Jringe,
Would you also say it's not interdenominational?
Cooperating with local officials on a matter like this is no violation of their "political neutrality"
That statement may be true, but we are talking about JW's. They say to get out of the world, teach people about the
permanant solution to man's problems- God's kingdom. These people are associating with each other to work toward
their goal- A WTS no-no for JW's.
The JW's are supposed to be pioneer preaching if they want to do something, or building Kingdom Halls.
IF the WTB&TS can get some positive results from sleeping with government or the "BEAST", they darn sure will do it! Look at the past for a good example!!
From this years resolution: "We utterly refuse to become involved with futile interfaith movements, as well as social programs and schemes designed to perpetuate a system that God has condemned to failure."
Seems to me that any environmental work to be done is about as futile as anything since Jehovah will be doing a real number on this earth any day now!
Jringe-it doesn't need to be political. It IS a social scheme(to improve the earth) and an interfaith activity. I am all for the JWs doing something Good for a change, its just that they are not allowed to according to their own rules, guidelines and resolutions.
