The marginal reference for Zep 1:14 is (Habakkuk 2:3) 3 For [the] vision is yet for the appointed time, and it keeps panting on to the end, and it will not tell a lie. Even if it should delay, keep in expectation of it; for it will without fail come true. It will not be late.
  
  We are living during that appointed time!!! How exciting these last days will prove to be as we see Bible Prophecy being fulfilled! May Jehovah strengthen you and fortify your heart and mind for the work ahead. And may he go ahead of you and prepare the hearts and minds of those to whom we preach!

  I am reminded of Jesus' words about watching out for false Christs. Looks like it is time once again for false urgency. Oh boy, a whole new generation of young people get to experience unfulfilled hope.

  at the circuit assembly recently, the DO talked about how soon the end is coming. he said since "the message" has gotten "harder" it's clear the end is so very close. Apparently the message has been "soft" before now, because Jehovah was gathering in people. Now, it is time for the harder message, the warning messages, such as the tract to be distributed in October.

  Ha! So, no one knows the day or the hour, not even Jesus. But the Jehovah whispers these things into the ears of the governing body and they print it in the watchtower.

  LOL!

  I had an epiphany during this part. next time someone tells me I need to be more active, I'll tell them that I will become more active.... very soon. very very soon.

  Such JW crap. The message was probably much harder in the early years and in the 70's. I think what that means is that they have been trying to win people over with positive preaching. Since they aren't listening anyway, go back to a negative message. That will help the JW rank and file to feel like "the end is right around the corner."

  I wonder if I can work the phrase, "the end is right around the corner" into every comment.

  The only ones trying to "Hurry it" are the Governing body and those dingbats who do their bidding. I personally remember when we had a Zeph/Hab text before. It was in 1974 about some vine not ripening and Jehovah taking care of us. That was supposed to be due to the Great Tribulation I believe.

  onthewayout, that's exactly what I was thinking. I think if anything the message has been so watered down recently, the Witnesses from the early 1900's through the mid 1900's would not recognize it.

  I think what they are doing is they are figuring out there are a lot of people out there who are buying into the idea of the end of the world coming soon, like the rapture or something like that. Think about the popularity of the "left behind" series of religious books lately. I think they are trying to attract these types and the way to get to them is to talkfire and brimstone and the end of the world and making these freaky "announcements". People are becoming more like they were back in the day when the witnesses were all about gloom and doom. They are just trying desperately to attract somebody, anybody to their message whatever way they can. They think stressing the "feel good" parts of the message, if you could call it that, hasn't been working for them.

  I don't think there will be a cry of peace and security anytime soon with all the BS going on in the middle east and with North Korea testing a nuclear bomb. So if there is a hurring of it maybe there won't be time for that prophisy to be fulfilled.
