I have Tyndale's "Eight Translation New Testament". It's great for comparing scriptures. The one I like best so far is Zondervan's "NIV Study Bible". The footnotes are wonderful, taking nearly half a page on each page. It's complete, Genesis to Revelation. I think you stil have to rely on context, as I've found every translation has a measure of bias. Enjoy your new "read" whatever it may be.

thanks for the advice. Babayaba, I know about the dead sea scrolls and other changes made to the bible, I'm not that green, only a newbie on this site, not a newbie in the search for freedom of doctrine!!

    Understood.

No assumptions or disrespect intended, Ms. Smith! I have just really enjoyed exploring them, myself, lately... especially with all the excitement about the Gospel of Judas scuttlebutt, etc.! I have been quite amused at how unraveled so many Christians got at the thought of the Gospel of Judas.
