Does Anyone Shun the JWS

Fullofdoubtnow! You're missing all the 'fun' by not smiling and saying a cheery 'Hello' to JWs who shun you.

It's something that I've only recently started doing and it puts the power back in your hands where it belongs.

After I do this, I smile all day. The poor dears don't know what to do with themselves. I wish I'd started doing that a couple of years ago.

    Fun! Fun! Fun!!

I know what you mean Gill, but I'm disassociated, and they all know it. They tend to turn away when they see me anyway.

Fullofdoubtnow - It doesn't matter if you're DA'd! Why play by their rules? If they turn away when they see you, why not say a happy 'Hello!'? What is stopping you from saying it? The ruder they are, the more they feel bad. There is NO WAY that a JW ever feels comfortable acting like an ignorant slob in public, when they are claiming to be Gods favoured people!

Make them 'eat dirt' by saying Hello! I love it when they squirm!

Gill's got the right idea. Although I can't be officially shunned as I never got dunked I spent a large part of my young life in the org. I think of myself as an 'apostate ambassador' -showing them that I haven't become some kind of low life moral degenerate because of leaving the org. I agree that being nice, positive and most of all self assured and confident puts them in a tail spin. They expect you to be both ashamed, guilty and embarrassed about leaving - show them that you have confidence in your own decision as we all know it's the right one! Never sink to their petty level - as you never know if your attitude and actions may contribute towards a JW beginning to question their own beliefs. FF

He might as well die with his faith intact. He deserves what he gets. I don't want to be put in a position where I have to destroy his delusions.

I agree! I would hate to shatter an old person's beliefs no matter how much I detest the JWs. If a younger JW wants to know my take on things I'll gladly destroy Watchtower thinking - but for an oldie I think it would probably kill them to genuinely find out they've been duped for the past 60, 70, 80 years!

Gill, I might just give it a try next time I see some jws, or when I see the jw at work, just to see their reaction. I'm sure people notice how they turn their backs on me though, and their actions probably don't endear them to those who do notice, so saying hello would embarass them even more.

I don't shun anyone because they are a JW. There are a few people in my life that I minimize contact with because it is not healthy emotionally. I greet all the rest with a smile and a wave.

Ok Gill, I'm up for it. I have to go out shortly anyway, so I'll keep a lookout for any poor unsuspecting dubs I run into, and make a point of saying hello to them.
