He was a cool guy who "left" us earlier this year. Ex-elder from, I believe, the Northwest, but moved to Hawaii after his daughters shunned him. You can click on the Member Directory and look at his avitar and posts under his name. The following was the bio he wrote: "I am in my 40's. I was a 'witness' for 25 years, an elder for 18 years. and a PO for two years. I have been df'd and been labeled an 'apostate' I am involved with the silentlambs, since there was a story that needed to be told about the injustices in the borg. There are more stories to follow on that site. The injustices and abuses are still going on in the borg. It IS a mind controlling cult ! People beware...... Coming to this board has been a life line for me. There are many good people here, who have been affected by the WT. Many are still trying to recover. We are in this together, and we all need to show unconditional love for each other. Something the WT doesn't practice eventhough they label themselves as 'christians'. I grew up in the Caribbean, I love to travel. Interests are; Aviation, Scuba Diving, Skiing, Cooking, Music, and Art, Maui, Hawaii"

Here are a few bytes about him. Puternut was an artist from europe. Quite a few of his works were of the female form. He was really open to people, giving and accepting from others. At first, i thought he was fake. Together w his friend octavia, he moved to a secluded cabin on one of the hawiian islands. Rejection by his jw daughters was too much for him, in the end...

Amen. We were supposed to arrange a meetup June/July 05. He and a friend were going to fly over to Hilo while we were there. But then he stopped responding to PM's or emails just before we left, and I forgot his contact info at home while we were there, so I had no way to contact him. I never met him personally, but his personality was infectious. Simply, he was a good egg. Thank you for the thread. I thought of him when the earthquake struck (our house over there in Hilo is fine). Maybe he was just saying "hi". All I know is what Makena1 and others have posted here about what happened. I happen to believe that for what ever reason, he could no longer handle this earthwalk and chose to leave. I also happen to believe that he's only elsewhere, and he'll be back ... sometime, some day. But that's what I believe. Ari, thank you for your time here. You gave a lot of us hope. -

We knew him, and were in the same congregation, before moving. Didn't have a clue he was out until two years ago. Didn't realize who Putternut was for quite awhile, then heard his name and things clicked. Was a great guy, father etc. Had a hand crafted jewelry business when we knew him. Miss him too! Wish things weren't so secretive with shunning etc, so all could find out just how many from their local areas have left. Glad there is a place for us to go to find peace, and good friends.
