So often, I hear people complaining about how the JW beliefs are no longer working and things like that....but so often, the complainers never say what should be done to solve the problem(s). Today I was reading jehovahs-witness.com/6/122349/1.ashx (about "Faders"), which had some honest & interesting points but no solutions. Some, even seem to think there's flaws in the whole JW organization. It made me want to ask this question... What would you change or fix about Jehovah's Witness beliefs/doctrines/lifestyle/etc and how would you fix it? Your answer must be supported by scriptures (or at least not go against scripture), since JW's will go strictly adhere to the Bible.

There's no way to fix a corrupt cult. I'd shut it down, sell off the assets and donate the proceeds to charities that actually help people instead of harming them.

    I already fixed it.

I hit the Ejection Lever and bailed out.

How can you fix something that is so perfect? It is the perfect system for entraping people with low self esteem into a pattern of thinking that makes them dependent on others to tell them what to think. It works for those with a large ego as well, These individuals can join and use their natural abilities to lord it over the others who are not so talented. I don't think I would change a thing. The Faithful and Discrete Enslaver is perfect for the job they've taken on.

I agree with PS 146:3,4: Don't trust the bastards. Is that scriptural enough for ya?

    Disbanding them would "fix" everything.

My first impulse is to agree with that statement. But I suppose if they dropped the shunning idea, the blood idea, and stopped discouraging college, they could turn into a religion that's no worse than any other. But their constant harping that the "end is just around the corner" teaches people not to be concerned about their future, which discourages saving for retirement. Not sure how they would change that, since it's so much a part of who they are.

I guess I agree with my first impulse, which is to say it can't be fixed and should be scrapped.

since JW's will go strictly adhere to the Bible.

Is that a fact? Then why do their bible based doctrines need to be updated with "New Light" ever so often if they are based on the Bible. How can they teach that "This Generation/1914" doctrine based on the Bible and proclaimed for over 70 years all of a sudden be "Old Light" replaced with the "New Light" that their understanding of it was wrong.

Welcome! I just wish the Watch Tower Society would get all the way out of the medical treatment business. I'd like to see the Society just make all medical treatment a personal choice not related to religion or salvation.

I only had two issues with them. One was blood medical treatment, and the second, alternative military service. They've fixed the alternative military service, they just have blood treatment left to change for me.

Other things only aggravate me, like shunning children and adolescents who were raised in the group and got baptized to satisfy their parents and then were kicked out and shunned.

I'm glad they shun me. I don't want that to ever change. It was a great gift to me.

Not everybody likes the shunning practice like I do. I hate it when they damage the reputation, character, and good name of good people by slander just because they quit reading the Society produced books, or make some judgment mistake like smoking, and then enforce the shunning practice.

I hate it when the Witness people are mean to the weak, the young, the old, or the sick. The Witness people have driven more than a few to a psychotic break and quite a few to suicide. I have a problem with that.

I don't like the adult Witness people who support these practices and who support the Watch Tower Publishing Corporation. I advocate to their detriment.

The Witnesses are a mean group and they're famous for doing mean things, like shunning, to people. If they quit being mean, they would not be Witnesses any more. Ya can't get stink off a skunk and ya can't get mean off a Witness.
