Before: 1 (classical Hebrew, created ex nihilo by God as the dialogues in Genesis 1--3 plainly show).
After: 70 (see Genesis 10), some of them strangely related to the one original language, others not....

Islanders had their languages and landlubbers had theirs and yes all the languages were spoken prior to and after the mythical tower of Babel.

Of course, asian languages are ignored.
Because the Hebrew people didn't know about them, they didn't exist.
Why did god confuse thier language? They were only trying to become 'closer' to him :P . -

THEY COULDN'T HAVE SPOKEN ALL THE WORLD'S LANGUAGUES BECAUSE FRENCH,SPANISH ,PORTUGESE AND ITALIAN CAME FROM LATIN,SO THEY WERE NOT AROUND IN NOAH'S TIME!
