You know what's funny? My mom has been rehearsing her talk at the KH for days now, and it's all about how the witnesses are so proud that they are no part of the world, and do not fit into the world's view of religious groups, and have nothing to do with "satan's system."
They boast and brag that they are not part of "chrisendom," yet they claim non-profit status to avoid paying taxes. They brag even more that they don't have a clergy class, yet they use the "clergy penitent privelege" to defend their pedofiles.
Imagine the things I could tell her if she would only listen...

DocBob, thanks so much for the information regarding the sale of 360 Furman Street for $205,000,000 - you confirmed that it wasn't an error what I had read back in the earlier posts. Only thing is, I'm not up to 2004 posts yet - not by a long shot - I'm still around Christmas, 2002! Perhaps the WT had been shopping the property around the market for awhile, and that is why the reports kept surfacing as far back as 2002. We may never know for sure.
I was able to dig around deeper today in ACRIS and learned how to navigate through it better. As a result, I discovered the deed for the sale of 360 Furman that was recorded on 7/13/04, sales price listed in ACRIS as $205,020,000.
Anitar, you are SO right. It is a dirty rotten shame that the rank and file won't listen to common sense.
Based on the information I was able to get from ACRIS today, below is a brand new table. WT has sold 3 properties in Brooklyn: (1) 360 Furman Streeet for $205,020,000; (2) 89 Hicks Street for $2,500,000; and (3) 108 Joralemon Street for $14,000,000. Those sales have grossed $218,520,000 between 7/13/04 and 7/25/06 (dates deeds were recorded). If it costs say $60,000,000 a year (just my estimate based on a recollection from one of my last annual reports in January WT that WT expended $50,000,000 during the year) to fund their operations here in the US, that money won't last more than 3.642 years. Hmmm...
