How do the JW's interpret the mark on the right hand and forehead and 666?

  In these few verses alone, they talk about a mark on the right hand and forehead, as well as not being able to buy or sell without that mark, and finally the number of the wild beast 666.

  After studying the Revelation Climax book a couple of times with the JW's, I still don't recall a clear explanation for these verses above.

  If we are so close to the end, wouldn't they know what 666 means by now?

  I think the scripture itself explains why Jehovah's Witnesses can't explain it.

  I always wondered if this was a reference to biometrics, at least human barcoding or micro-chipping.

  They let the Faithless Indiscreet Slave interpret for them. That's why they haven't the foggiest clue.

  I am limited in my knowledge of this; however, it was explained to me by the Witnesses as having the mark of the beast on the head means that a person mentally endorses the beast. Likewise, the mark on the hand means a person in some way works for and supports the beast. The number six -- being a number applied to mankind means it is imperfect and 666 (three times meaning emphasis) means it is emphatically imperfect.

  They tried to be clever and produce some detailed explanations of Revelation several times but each time they were wildly wrong, and overall their competence in interpreting the Bible proved to be virtually zero. The R&F will have to wait for ever for the true new light to arrive.

  If the end is so close, and the JW's think that God enlightens them, and them only, they should have a better explanation that what they've told us in the past.

  So they make it sound like its a good thing to be marked?

  The number six -- being a number applied to mankind means it is imperfect and 666 (three times meaning emphasis) means it is emphatically imperfect.

  So, is this where they get that 666 is the sign of the devil? Or dont the jw's believe in that, just other religions?

  The mark identifies those who give support to the beast in any way. In my opinion this includes the WT for joining the DPI of the UN and promoting the UN's programs in their literature. This is why I stopped going in Field service.
