How would a tract like this work to 'Unveil' Jehovah's Witnesses?

    Why I left Jehovah's Witnesses

Parents Protect Your Children from possible assault.

I was one of your Jehovah's Witnesses neighbors for over 40 years. Then in 2004, I left. I now spend time warning my neighbors about this destructive mind-controlling cult just down the street.

When Jehovah's Witnesses call at your home, your family might be at risk. The reason I say this is that the policies of this group acts to create a pedophile paradise. The policy is like this; if one of Jehovah's Witnesses molests a child, and the child reports it to the elders in the congregation, in order for the elders to take any action that warns the congregation of this issue, there must be two witnesses to the sin. How often, are there two witnesses to such a secret crime? In most cases the child and parents are encouraged not to contact authorities with the accusation, due to 'bringing reproach on Jehovah God', and are warned that if 'two witnesses' are not available, nothing can be done. Often this has resulted in the parents or the person who was molested being excommunicated for trying to warn others in the congregation and community.

If nothing is done to the perpetrator of this horrific act, he is often free to continue his activities, since no one in the congregation is aware of the matter due to 'ecclesiatical privilage'. This very person might be the next one to call at your door.

To make the record clear; I am not suggesting that there are any such child molesters in the local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses here. In my nearly 40 years within this group I did not know of a single case. But that is partly the point. Due to the 'two witness rule', no one except the elders would be aware, and they would keep the matter entirely confidential. Unless this accused person is excommunicated, and it seems that is rare, he would be free to engage in the same ministerial work as all Jehovah's witnesses, and no one would be the wiser.

My only reason for this message to you - is that there is always saftey in being aware of matters of this sort. I ask not that you would be unkind to these persons, no good can come from unkindness expressed out of fear. I suggest the following steps, simple ones, to make sure you and your family are safe from potential harm. There are documented cases of Jehovah's witnesses allowing accused child molesters to go door to door. Children typically would be trusting toward 'ministers'.

    • Never allow your children to accept literature from any group calling at your home, religious or otherwise. Especially is this a danger to 'latch key' children, or those home without adult supervision on weekends at times.
    • Look at the internet site called 'Silent Lambs' - begun by a long time witness elder who left the religion over the matter of hidden child molesters within it's ranks. There is a wealth of information there, better expressed than I could express it, documented history of the child molestation cases, video and audio clips of major media coverage that you may not be aware of personally.
    • If you are a grandparent, uncle, aunt, cousin to those with children, who might be at risk for accepting Jehovah's witnesses into their homes or perhaps joining the cult unknowingly, please pass this information on to them. I can only contact a few persons with this information - but if you pass it on to others the message will get out. Please copy this and give a copy to everyone you know who might be at risk - which is nearly everyone, since Jehovah's witnesses call at every home in the country regularly.

I have no 'hidden agenda' here. By leaving the religion I am ostracized, and publicly 'shunned'. I left my entire life back there, but I could not tolerate on any moral level an organization that would allow such activity against it's own interests, due to the twisting of scripture, and a clear misrepresentation of God. Please do not take my word for it - look at the volumes of evidence on the internet. Just use any search engine and type 'Jehovah's witnesses' and 'molesters'. I can vouch that the 'two witness' rule is in effect, as it has been for this religion since I was a child.

Please Protect Your Kids - Get Informed.

To Be Forewarned is to be Forearmed. May God Bless you.

A great idea. A couple of points. I think having the term Jehovah's Witness too prominent at the beginning will stop people reading it. Also it may be more accepted if presented as a community leaflet rather than a personal letter from yourself.

I would remove "Why I left Jehovah's Witnesses" and also move the next sentence to further in the tract. "I was one of your Jehovah's Witnesses neighbors for over 40 years. Then in 2004, I left. I now spend time warning my neighbors about this destructive mind-controlling cult just down the street."

That way you could start with:

Parents Protect Your Children from possible assault.

Do you allow your children to talk to and accept literature from strangers calling at your home?

If I met persons who wanted it - I would provide the actual websites, my own name and number if they like.

I would distribute this tract beginning on the front door of the Kingdom hall - at the neighbors in the actual area. Then begin to work some areas of town with a high concentration of children, asking those I contact to please copy the info and contact everyone they know.

The child molestation issue is the key. Hopefully the parental protection response will kick in, and soon many will be better informed about all aspects of the cult.

JWfacts.....I do want to say that I am a great admirer of yours, and I usually agree 100% on everything you post. But in this case....well...I have a question. If this pamphlet/tract is designed to grab the householder's attention to warn them about the WTS/JWs.....what is the harm in presenting this the way Jeff said?

Generally speaking, the JWs (AFAIK) are seen as harmless but irritating people who they would just prefer to ignore. The pointing out of who and what they very possibly could BE (and the problems they could pose) while appearing "innocently" on their doorstep....should be quickly explained and the "name" should be promininent, (as in the first line.)

We aren't messing around with the validity of celebrating or not celebrating birthdays here----the problem is child molestation carries much more import and needs to be "out there" in the forefront as often and as much as possible.

I clearly recall the JW (I won't cite his name here but I will PM it to anyone who wants that and what he did to his grand-daughter) that was on the DATELINE segment, where he was an admitted pedophile and still was going out door-to-door as the camera crew filmed him while he "preached the Good News". It's enough to make you vomit.

I think that everything the public is told about ths hideous and dangerous cult----should be upfront and as plainly put as possible. I see no reason to soft-pedal information like this.

I like the track idea alot, I might do a french version for use in Quebec, as it could help there too, I'll wait and see how your final version looks and will translated in french. I live in a booming suburb and alot of young families have moved in there with kids, it may slow them down abit at the kingdumb Hall!

Good idea AK-Jeff, Another thing you could do is a bulk mailing through the USPS, then even witnesses will get it and some will read it. And who knows you might plant a seed, where if you went to their door they won't even consider what you have to say. Acadian
