Mmm, this is my favorite time of year in Texas! Our trees aren't as brilliantly colorful as New England's, but they do turn colors, the weather cools off, our electric bill is cut at least in half, my roses explode with blooms one last time before winter, there is a golden glow as the sun sets, and I get the cooking bug. Today I'm making homemade bread, clam chowder, sauteed and baked chicken breasts (2/3 of which will be used for homemade chicken enchiladas in a couple of days) and a pumpkin pie. The windows are open, the house smells wonderful, and life is good.
Okay, there was a bottle of wine involved in all of this . . .
And when I went grocery shopping today, I ran into a bunch of neighbors and friends at the store, and it was great. It reminded me of my life post-JW. We all have the holiday season coming up and are making plans for dinners, parties, gifts -- WONDERFUL things that as a JW I saw only from the outside looking in.
Live each day, my friends, and enjoy the moments. Look for the beauty and you will find it in very simple things.
Love to all,
Nina
