Welcome Shanna! Good to have you here. Jump in anytime. Lilly
Welcome!
Never having been baptized, it was probably much easier to leave, not having to deal with the disfellowshipping/disassociation shunning thing most of has to face. And the WTS doesn't reserve sex for couples who love each other, it reserves it only for couples who are legally married - these are not always the same things!
JWdaughter, if you weren't baptized, the announcement from the platform would likely be that you were not an approved association, or, if you'd been a publisher, something similar. You would not have been disassociated, you'd have been "bad-associated!"

Hi Shanna, and welcome to the forum, it's great to see you here.
I just do what is expected and live a natural life
Well done, that's the best way for anyone to live when they've left the jws. It flies in the face of the teaching that no one who leaves the org can have any kind of decent life.
Welcome! Im glad you DIDNT have to experience being DFd and the shunning and loss of family. Consider yourself blessed in that regard. If you are living your true life and it sounds like you have an "alternate lifestyle" like many friends of mine have...at least you are being true to yourself.
In the end thats the life God gave you. There is no life in the JWs. Nothing but lovelessness and distaste for other human beings outside their miserable existence.
