I am a fader but gossip has spread and they all call us apostate. When I see them, they look right through me like I don't even exist.
Though, any time I am out, no matter what is happening in my life, I try to keep a big, bright, happy smile on my face. Hopefully, it makes them wonder.

Wouldn't ya just KNOW????
When I have finally summoned up enough courage to see a JW and ask (in a public place) "how ARE you---I haven't seen you in AGES".....
I have YET to see a JW wherever I go!!! I was in three different stores one day last---ones where I ALWAYS spot one or two---and the only JW I saw was my old PO coming out of a Chinese restaurant and I was in the car! So much for any confrontation, LOL!
I am SO anxious to "try" my new approach and embarrass them....hopefully I'll get the chance soon.

Hi Annie, Hopefully you will, that would be so funny. I imagine bumping into them and being all pleased to see them like nothing ever happened. If they ask why I left I would treat it like it was just a silly hobby that I got bored with and tell them I'm learning cookery instead.
I am "studying" with some JWs and sometimes I think I catch a look of disgust or confusion on their face when I say certain things...but maybe it is my imagination?
Hi Truthsearcher & welcome
That's really rude. My study conductor did that to me all the time. She would quite often shake her head and roll her eyes too. It really hurt my feelings and made me feel so small. What annoys me the most is that I initially blamed myself for saying something silly enough to make her react like that. Now I know that she was being self-righteous and rude.
What kind of things did you say that made them look at you like that?
I wouldn't know. I don't get out much.

It depends. If they are really nice and are rooting for my husband's reinstatement, they have a kinda desperate look about them. "We really miss you at the meetings."
If they are neutral towards my husband, then I am ignored.
Those in the know in the old hall send me invisible daggers.
Hi Moomin and thanks for the welcome.
I want to be careful in my answer because for all I know, my JWs may be lurking here too! I told them that I had attended an event to be better informed about an issue, and the look I received was fairly unveiled. It didn't offend me, though, because I know there is bondage there.
