Ok...Please bare with me; I'm trying to get my thought out through a headache...LOL

What kind of chance do you think you have with god?...Meaning that if the 'meekest man' on earth pissed god off, (And I STILL don't really know why) so that god punished him with death before they entered the 'promised land', something that Moses waited over 40 years for, What chance do you think you have?

I mean think of it....Here's Moses living his whole life around god (Closer than anyone today) and god punished him...(BTW...Who can tell me what HORRIBLE crime he did anyway?)

Do you think...'All I have to do is say or be sorry and he'll forgive me if I mean it'?...Don't you think that Moses was sorry for whatever it was that he did?

I know there are some people that kind of look at god this way...OT god is harsh...and the NT god is loving and kind...But wait, I thought god doesn't change?

Anyway I'm not looking for an argument or anything, I sincerly want to know how you all look at things...Maybe I'm missing something or maybe you are...Only by asking will I know!....LOL

Not much of a chance judging by how he dealt with Moses.

Not that I care, really, I no longer have any belief in god anyway.

If the god of the bible is real and if he will judge me one day. Then I have about a snowballs chance in hell of being approved by him.

The heinous crime that Moses commited was when the ppl were (moaning) for water, he banged his fist on a rock and said "ill give you water" instead of saying JEHOVAH will give you water.........................he deserved everything he got if you ask me.

It's terribly conflicted. The whole question is unanswerable from a logical standpoint. I know how christians attempt to answer it, as you probably do. My current view is that everything is fairly unified, in a general sense. There is no ultimate, universal authority. We all are part of the whole. As we all have individual subconsciouses, so there is also a group subconscious of the human race, ala carl jung. That results through the subconscious connections that we all have to everyone else.

Wade in the water. Wade in the water children. Wade in the water; Lord gonna trouble the water. All is One, and we are One, with One. Yes, Satanus, all is ONE.

Maybe Moses heart had become corrupted because of all the power he had, and Jehovah saw that, but no else could.

Just a thought. My 4 cents.

My $0.02, probably worth less than that:

Given the thousands of conflicting, confusing, nonsensical, and complicated views of who God is & what he requires of us, a God of love & justice could not fairly judge us on what particular brand of religion we chose to follow, or were born into. If there is an afterlife, and if there is an omnipotent & omniscient God who does judge us, I think it must be based on the content of our character. Based on what we understood to be true, honest, loving, and just, how well did we live our lives in accord with that?

One of my all-time favorite movie lines rather succinctly sums up my viewpoint:

In the movie "Kingdom of Heaven", after the first day of the siege on Jerusalem, Balian & the bishop are looking over the pile of deceased defenders. Balian is about to set the pile on fire, but the bishop is ordering him not to. "You can't do that - bodies which are burned cannot be resurrected until judgment day!"

Balian replies, "If we do not burn these bodies now, we will all be dead from disease within 3 days. God will understand what we must do. And if he does not, then he is not God, and we need not worry."
