Active JWs—Do JWs actually carry a "life saving" message?

According to the current dogma of Jehovah's Witnesses:

    • Those who hear and ignore the warning will be destroyed
    • Those who do not hear might be spared (if Jehovah so chooses)
    • Any who do not receive the mark in their foreheads (per Ezekiel) will not be spared
    • Any who are of responsible age (interpretted by Jehovah) and are not baptized will not be spared
    • Jehovah does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance

More people are born every year than get baptized, adding to the death toll every year. In case you doubt whether that statement is true, consider this:

    • Between 1950 and 2000 the number of JW publishers (baptized and unbaptized) went from less than 500,000 to more than 6,000,000
    • World population was at just under 3,000,000,000 in 1950 and had swelled to over 6,000,000,000 by 2000
    • JWs gained roughly 5,500,000 publishers over the same period of time that the world gained 3,000,000,000 people
    • During this period, per current JW dogma, your religious preaching efforts have condemned at least an additional 2,994,500,000 people to death

Keep this in mind as you go from door to door. If your religious dogma is correct, you are killing your neighbors.

AuldSoul - That being the case then, that those who dismiss the message the JWs carry will be destroyed, wouldn't the most loving thing a JW could do, and self sacrificing, would be not to give the 'Kingdom Message' to anyone so that they might be spared.

'No man has greater love....' blah blah etc!

another problem with this life saving message - what if you weren't one that was meant to be an evangilizer, or a teacher, or a prophet? Your gifts are in other areas? If your presentation doesn't attract that particular householder at that moment, and they turn you away - yikes! That householder would have a better chance with surviving if the JW had never knocked. They have in essense caused their death -

Yes, Gill, that would be the greatest demonstration of their love for neighbor. I think this could be successfully argued with any Elder Zealot who wanted to encourage Sister Neverout or Brother Wontknock.

Just trying to arm the ones still trapped with a bit of unassailable logic.

Yes, Will Power, I agree. But I was making the point that just the numbers prove that their preachnig work is not only ineffective but (if their dogma is correct) downright destructive. In other words, if they are right and genuinely believe their current dogma, they should keep their mouths shut.

I hope some active JWs will post here to discuss whether they believe such verifiable facts would be compelling if presented to JWs engaged in the door to door ministry.

  • Interesting observation mate.....but, if you told that to a dub......they'd say " if we didn't speak, then Jehovah would simply read the hearts as to who would have listened to the message if it HAD been given.

Gumby......who'd just love to hear what it would sound like if the rocks cried out

gumby: if we didn't speak, then Jehovah would simply read the hearts as to who would have listened to the message if it HAD been given.

Good to see you posting again, gumbastahd.

While you are correct, according to their dogma Jehovah does read the hearts, whether or not they hear the message. And also, according to their dogma, it is vital for people to hear the message. And also, anyone who does not hear is not adversely affected because Jehovah decides. But if they are not baptized when Armageddon comes they have not received the mark and will die. Jehovah decides it so.

If anyone doesn't see conflicts in the previous paragraph, that person is still one of Watchtower Society's Witnesses. I say that because they surely aren't witnessing for Jehovah.

I have heard it said many times, when trying to stop negative thinking about why armageddon seems to be a long time arriving..............that more ppl have a chance of comming into the truth. I remember a brother saying if it had come 10 years ago he would not have been in the truth then and would been destroyed.

If you've never been visited by Jehovah's Witnesses before, and all you know about them is what you've heard or have read on the internet, ie they are awash with paedophiles, break up families, operate a bizarre blood transfusion policy, have been warning of Armageddon for over a hundred years etc.etc., why would you even open your door to them?

Will Jehovah, whilst reading the hearts of people also take account of the fact that his organisation, as well as being understaffed and overworked, also has a dreadful public profile?

Very interesting point, Clam. I will give that some additional thought.

For him not to take that into consideration would be incredibly unfair. The message is often not solely rejected based on the reputation of the message, but also on the reputation of the organization represented by the messenger.

On that score, if anyone rejected the message just because the organization had put forward false prophecy in the past they would be justified in doing so according to Jesus warning in Matthew 7 and 24.

While you are correct, according to their dogma Jehovah does read the hearts, whether or not they hear the message

Jesus oughta learn from his pa cuz he said whenever you enter a city and they do not listen to you, then shake the dust off your sandles....for it will be more endurable for Sodom and Gommorah than for them on judgement day. Even Jesus didn't tell his diciples not to worry if people didn't listen to the message as his dad would do the judging. Maybe that's where the dubs get it from.

    Clam, you crazy thinkin bastard

all you know about them is what you've heard or have read on the internet, ie they are awash with paedophiles, break up families, operate a bizarre blood transfusion policy, have been warning of Armageddon for over a hundred years etc.etc., why would you even open your door to them?

They deserve to die just like in Noah's day doncha know. Here's a gray bearded old man tellin people it's gonna rain ( a term or event they never heard of before) yet they were expected to listen to him as he trepassed on their property tellin this gloomy message. Hell, I woulda listened to the guy.......wouldn't you? Sheesh!
