According to JW rules, committing the sin once demonstrates a lapse of judgement, and affords the Elders™ the opportunity to merely offer him Reproof™.
The fact that this criminal commited his crime multiple times against multiple victims (he confessed to two, but who knows if there are more), does not demonstrate remorse over his crimes or compassion for his victims. It demonstrates that he's terrified of being destroyed by Jehovah.
Can someone find out whether he has been disfellowshipped?

His motive for confessing was not out of concern for the children he molested, and not to get help for his "problem", but to "get it right with God" and to spare his "eternal soul" from judgement. What an utterly selfish ba$tard.

Pedophiles are sociopaths who do not possess the capability of being noble. Their apologies and admissions are unequivocably self-serving and should never be confused with remorse.

At least one Elder has stood up and told a man to go to the authorities...I applaud him for doing that regardless of the reason he advised him to do it. It at the very least takes one piece of vermin off the street. sammieswife.

Yes, it's great that the man was told to go to authorities. Just speculating, but could it be that the public pressure on the JWs over the pedophile issue contributed to this?
