I don't think Christ would object to celebrations that honor events in his life: ( i.e., his birth; his baptism; his Transfiguration; his death and resurrection; his ascension). Would Jehovah's Witnesses say any of these events are pagan? When people are in church remembering these events, they do it to honor him. "For the Father judges no one at all, but he has committed all the judging to the Son, in order that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He that does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent him." John 5:22-23
