    Hi mysterious

I bought a new Toshiba last year - it has a 2 year guarantee PLUS (I dunno how many other makers do this) at no extra cost it's registered with them so if it gets stolen I can phone their tech support and they can remotely disable it - via the wi-fi I guess.

It has wireless modem, bluetooth, loads of slotty bits for dvd/mini dvd and mini discs and plugging things into - !

It also has it's own online and offline help centre/diagnostic program which I find a lot more useful than the the standard MS Windows help.

    I love it!

I've never owned a laptop myself, but my fiance swears by Apple products. You can pick up a nice refurbished macbook at the apple store online for $899 U.S., free shipping.

Had a number of Toshibas but some baaaaad experiences with them, especially TE2100 model whenit lost its cmos power - past warranty & pretty much irreparable

I usually hate notebooks but I love this one, Price is meanigless - Australian prices are rather high, especially for new tech

    Nosferatu,

I had one of those at work....but they didn't like to be dropped (or put down heavily).

If you were going to go any distance you needed a trolley
