And yes, I think a lot less would have been dead with that nutcase dictator still in charge.

This reminds me of something I just read. Saddam has been "credited" with the murders of 300,000 Iraqis over 24 years. The most recent study done by Johns Hopkins University puts the numbers of Iraqis killed by Bush et al in the last three years as close to 600,000.

I'm sure the Iraqi people feel very free today. When the Saddam verdict was announced and people were demonstrating in the streets, Iraqi security forces shut down two of the TV stations that were broadcasting the demonstrations.

    So, uh yeah, propaganda.

Do you think that Bush's use of the word freedom as his reasons for invading another country, a acurate term or just more government propaganda?

I think his statement after the last election said it all. He claimed he had a "mandate" from the people of the U.S.

I feel he has been running his own little dictatorship, with his pals and family members profiting big time. His behavior, decisions, administration and comments have been embarassing to say the least. Lets not forget about Katrina, the Dubai Port deal, Haliburton, etc., etc., etc.

He as left the impression he never picked up a history book. The whole world knew not to stir the hornet's nest he has gotten us into.

To answer your question, it wasn't govt. prop, it was Bush propaganda.

    r.

Recent polls from CNN about war in Iraq 9/24/06:

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Opposition among Americans to the war in Iraq has reached a new high, with only about a third of respondents saying they favor it, according to a poll released Monday.

Just 35 percent of 1,033 adults polled say they favor the war in Iraq; 61 percent say they oppose it -- the highest opposition noted in any CNN poll since the conflict began more than three years ago.

Despite the rising opposition to the war, President Bush said the U.S. will not withdraw from Iraq while he is president.

"In this case, it would give the terrorists and extremists an additional tool besides safe haven, and that is revenues from oil sales," the president said. "Leaving before the job is done would be a disaster," he said. (Full story)

    Speaking of polls:

Let's listen to what the Iraqi people are saying, according to a recent poll conducted by the University of Maryland:

** 71% of all Iraqis now want the U.S. out of Iraq.

** 61% of all Iraqis SUPPORT insurgent attacks on U.S. troops.

    Hemp,

The most recent study done by Johns Hopkins University puts the numbers of Iraqis killed by Bush et al in the last three years as close to 600,000.

Here is a clip from the washington post about the study:

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2006/10/10/AR2006101001442_pf.html

Of the total 655,000 estimated "excess deaths," 601,000 resulted from violence and the rest from disease and other causes, according to the study. This is about 500 unexpected violent deaths per day throughout the country.
The survey was done by Iraqi physicians and overseen by epidemiologists at Johns Hopkins University's Bloomberg School of Public Health. The findings are being published online today by the British medical journal the Lancet

9/11 terrorist attack of the Twin Towers was very bad with over 2,000 killed, and we rightly call them terrorist. But it begs the questions:

If we call those terrorist who ploted and carried out the 911 attack what do we call those that invaded Iraq and helped cause over 600,000 deaths in Irag? Are they not terrorist too?

It is all a POV. The president would call them freedom fighters, and the Iraqi's would call them terrorist.

I have been reading pres bush's press conference statements found at the whitehouse official site pretty interesting rhetoric:

    http://www.whitehouse.gov/news/releases/2006/10/20061011-5.html

And here is a interesting piece by a chinese news source about bush's invasion of iraq from a foreign perspective:

    Bush keeps revising war justification

WASHINGTON - US President Bush keeps revising his explanation for why the U.S. is in Iraq, moving from narrow military objectives at first to history-of-civilization stakes now.

Get ready the NWO is making their big power play . The conspiracy kooks aren't as stupid as was being made out of them. Next people need to start realizing that the air traffic control of 911 was supposed to contact the military to shoot down planes that were out of flight pattern and not responding.. They had plenty of time to do it and as seen when payne stewarts jet was shot down they are authorized for it. We are talking about some very cold calculating people . My main concern now is that they will have a draft as I keep hearing it on the news there is a push for it. I thought the democrats campaign this time around was about getting out as quickly as possible . Glad I didn't vote.
