They stressed the importance of washing your hands after going to the bathroom.
I will back off and support that one. Keeping your distance when you have a cold is good, too.

The teachings I still agree with did not originate with the Watchtower nor are they unique to the Tower. The Bible, whatever you think of it, has alot of teachings that are not necessarily bad qualities to have. All churches based on the Bible share these teachings to some degree.
There is nothing I can think of that is strictly unique to the WT that I agree with now.

Getting Rid of Fleas
Two dogs and a cat in the same household were infested with fleas. Researchers experimented with "every commercially available dip, bath, spray, powder, soap, collar and tag with no lasting diminution of the population of fleas." Then one health-food store suggested brewer’s yeast for the problem. Every day 60 grains were administered to each of the dogs and 30 grains to the cat. Soon there was no sign of fleas on the animals, and they remained that way as long as they received brewer’s yeast.hi newboy! i like your threads!
i totally agree about the non violence thing. it's too bad that i had to be a jw to learn that though, since so many other practices teach this too.
i like the fruitage of the spirit, and to love others as we would love ourselves. the only thing i think that jesus missed there is, 'and if you don't love yourself, then that is still no excuse to abuse others.'
apart from that, i liked ecc. 9:11

Nothing- I see nothing in them that others don't do better. 99.9% of the world sees no advantage to JW doctrines either.
While there are a few doctrines that I still accept [at least partly], and some values are present there that I agree with, THERE IS NOTHING THERE THAT IS NOT FOUND HUNDREDFOLD ELSEWHERE!
Other religions teach good morals, to love one another, non-violence, charitiy [which Jw's only lip-serve], respect for others [another Jw lip-service item], aid persons to reform their lives from bad habits like drugs and alcohol.
The other religions don't expect everyone on earth to eventually have walked among the dead watching them have their eyeballs plucked out by crows, while kicking in the door to their homes to claim as their 'inheritance'. Other religions don't expect a Father or Mother to ignore his/her daughter for the rest of his/her life due to a sin committed while 15, due to having been baptised at 8. Other religions do not expect members to ignore Jesus, while proclaiming themselves to be the only CHRISTians on earth. Nuff said I 'spose.

Any doctrines I appreciate???...Are you joking??..They won`t believe what they are teaching now,in 10 years...OUTLAW
neutrality, or at least a healthy cynicism of out political leaders , the non alignment with politics and Nationalism (Except when England play football )
Other than that the principles of decent living that are basic to the Bible itself and to other non Christian religions and to secular humanism,
IP makes his own doctrines
