how about... I want all the children in third world countries, and our own, to have the food and medice that they need for the rest of this year, and all of next year until the next x-mas, and then do it all over again next x-mas....

hmm I like that better then wanting my family out of the org. it's one thing for people to choose to stay in mind controlling religion it's quite another for kids to be without food, shelter, medicine and clean water. thx for the reminder ofg

Hm a $500 gift cert to spend as I choose, or a sewing machine with automatic buttonholer, or jewelry.

As a family we have been doing a bit of giving with our church. So far we have done the holiday food drive and the angel tree (bought a cute pair of snow boots for a 3 year old girl.)

Oh and I'm knitting a bunch of scarves to give as presents. I find that my family really loves getting handmade gifts.

As far as giving gifts, I love to give gifts! I just bought my hubby a black Harley Davidson leather
jacket at the leather shop. He had to go with me for the fitting. OMG he looks so sexy and handsome in it!
(You know he is 15 years younger and looks like the lead of Metallica)
I think I bought it as much for myself and the turn on it gives me as much for him!

My landlady walks her little scotty dog and so I got her dog a cute Red Riding Hood coat from the Target store. It is soooo cute!

I bought my landlord a wonderful red and black tool tote from the Home Depot.

I got my work mates delicious smelling vanilla hand lotion from the Body Shoppe.

My MIL is precious but I dont know what to get her. She is hard to shoppe for.
I need help on this one.
ANYBODY PLEASE, DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS FOR A WONDERFUL GIFT FOR A LOVING MOTHER????

I'll be giving my hubby a nice digital camcorder, he really needs something to replace that old clunker we've had forever.

I'm asking Santa for a digital camera, specifically a Nikon D70 SLR. I don't think Santa has deep enough pockets though. That's ok, I wrote a letter to Santa this year with a few "suggestions", so hopefully I won't get another Lion King Thimble set....

Xmas or otherwise: A pair of tickets to see Blue Man Group in March. $300.00 is a little indulgent for me, but I know I would love the experience. Just out curiosity--how many of you like to get 'things' for a gift, as opposed to an 'experience?' I've never been into stuff so much, but I love experiencing lots of new things. Being no longer tied to the congregation certainly allows me to do that!

BTW, as for that statement that a JW would never give a gift in return, it doesn't have to be that way, and for me it wasn't. True, I didn't give any gifts tied to a holiday or a birthday--but I did give gifts on other occasions (summer family get-together, e.g.) or non-occasions...wrapped even! People had an extra 'boost' from it being a surprise as well as from it being a for them. I still recommend that mode of gift-giving. And yes, I recommend receiving--without guilt--too. Regardless of occasion. [Well, unless, it's the head of John the Baptist on a platter. That one I wouldn't feel too good about.]

Well, I would wake up on Christmas morning and my dh would say "Honey, I finally see that JWs are not God's channel on earth.

Materialistically, I would love a Mini Cooper convertible. I would love to be invited by royalty to photograph their families in their castles in Europe. Pay for my room/board/transportation and I'll do the shoot free, LOL! I've photographed celebrities and it's not all that, but there is something so exciting to me about photographing in such a beautiful location with such a different culture from my own.

I've gotten my girls various things for Christmas. But Santa is bringing them a lot of neat outdoor toys. Here is the one I think they will love the most (you can go inside the ball and roll around or push each other around):
