I was one who stood at the back . Although I didn't realize it at the time I had panic attacks whne I was forced to sit too long. At the time I thought it was back problems because I had that too, Once I had kids walking them back and forth was normal for me. Learning sign language was a blessing for me because I could get up and move
Yes, I loved sitting in the back. The view was better (the view of San Francisco that is )
My first hall - I mostly sat middle to back. When I left that hall, I was always in the back at the ends, makes for escaping easily afterwards. By my last hall - I made excuses to sit in the second school with all the mom's with babies- didn't get too much outta those talks - Oh well...
I used to sit in the middle, until the last few months before I left. I would sit at the back then, as near the door as possible, and get out at the end of the meeting before any of the elders, who were increasingly on my back, could say anything.
Woo Hoo this is my first post ! I've been lurking for years. Someday I will share my story but for now I just feel like chatting.
Nope, I never hung out in back during meetings. Not even with 4small children. Husband was an elder and we wanted to 'set an example' of the perfect WT family....ha ha.....what a joke that turned out to be. Our theme was 'move around, move around at the Kingdom Hall. We sat in all different sections so we could get to know others. I would always make a point of speaking to those sitting nearby after each meeting. My problem was getting to the meeting on time, always came in late. I realize now it was a coping mechanism.
my parents were up front sort of folk, and NO GETTING UP FOR THE BATHROOM.
So I peed on my moms winter jacket........oooooops.
Wecome to the board Tinker...
my spot was in the back, to the right side
and on the aisle. I never knew when I would have to leave
and did not want to walk over people to do it.
If I was going to leave it was usually after the talk
during the song. It looked like I would be
going to the bathroom, so was hardly noticed.

I did the sound....I had a chance back there to map out my business day, for the following day, sent text messages and emails from my cell phone to various clients and suppliers. K
