I've just found out something that's going to be a massive thing in my Congregation when it gets out.
It all starts with a former JW, who faded away probably about a decade ago, and then moved away, came out as a homosexual a few years ago. He was never baptised, and he left so long ago, he never got chased up or disfellowshipped. Then, another guy, a very spiritual guy, also left my Congregation about 7 years ago, to go to Bethel, and came back last year, got appointed as an MS, and was considered a future elder. Until, the former JW, found an interesting profile whilst searching a gay dating site. Yes, the MS was on a Gay dating site, with things in his profile such as about his favourite gay sex positions! The former JW told his family, who are still JWs, probably not with the intention of causing trouble for the MS, just in general conversation, but obviously the MS got reported to the elders, and he's got a JC coming up.
I'm stunned, I never would have guessed it. It makes me wonder if anyone else in my Congregation is living a double life. I mean, how would you really know? It also makes me wonder what he got up to in Bethel?
I couldn't care less like, I kind of feel sorry for him. Though I've always found him a bit critical... and I don't know how a homosexual JW leading a double life could manage to be at all critical.
And I know, because my Dad who's an elder, has never been good at keeping confidential elders matters confidential.
Sensational news in my Cong!

Find out the site - print out the whole thing and deliver it anonymously to an elder's mailbox.
I have no judgment to render regarding the guys sexual choices, but scandal is good for the TowerFall. Besides, if he is ex-Bethel he prob was involved with other Bethelites. These guys, upon returning to the congo's are the worst Pharisees of them all. The more that get disfellowshipped and the deeper the scandal runs the better.

There are regular dismissals from Bethel of guys who are gay. Too bad, if only they would "avoid" that "sin"....

No need Jeff! I don't know where the profile is, but the elders have seen the site.
Would Bethel have to investigate this, since he was there for 6 years? -

I have real empathy for anyone who is trying to "tow the line" between losing family and friends and living his/her life. I have a feeling the "double lifers" in this organization are a VERY large number.

DAMN!!! My cover's out! lol j/k
Well, kind of. I actually was like that. I am gay and led a double life. Until I decided to leave and left, just like that. I only e-mailed two elders and told them I wouldn't be attending the meetings anymore. Never told them the real reason. And I was baptized but they never hounded me. Prob. bcz I was the only one in my family who was a JW. I don't think they know the real reason I left until this day and I left about a year ago and I leave close to the KH but I rarely see them.
Zico - is he cute? bcz if he is, send him my way! ;-) hehehe

I had a second cousin that got married and had three kids and was also a MS in his Cong. Then one day he comes out and announces that he has been gay for as long as he could remember. This hit the cong. like a tidal wave and mentaly and emotionaly destroyed his wife and kids. Of course most of my family nearly went off the "deep end" also.
I seen the great lengths that gay JW's have gone to cover up thier double life but to get married and have three kids is taking it to another level entirely. Maybe if it was not stigmatized so badly they would not go to such extremes that can cause so much damage. But that would be too logical and make way too much sense for the J-bots.
Zico, keep us informed as to what happens. That level of scandal has historicaly been very pivotal in a congregation as to how many people leave because the "scales" suddenly fall off of thier eyes.
I always remember my mom saying things like "Jehovah will make it known if someone is secretely sinning". I never recalled her ever saying that an apostate could also do it. Maybe there will be a WT article on the importance of apostates and thier role in rooting out evil from the organization.
Or maybe not.

I don't know the policy on that - but that is what I was hoping. I suppose though that unknown to most of us, Bethel is prob a hotbed of this type of activity. The GB couldn't be completely oblivious to that, and have prob a standing policy regarding those found out after they leave, so that they can track down others still in the 'holy place'.

I would think if they hear about tjis, which they will, that they might well be interested in those he associated with at bethel, though they might keep it quiet to avoid damage to the orgs' reputation.

How well would a movie titled "Brokeback Bethell" do in the theaters?
