The only "Get-Togethers" that I was invited to included a brother from Bremen, Georgia who had a machine connected to a laptop that diagnosed which herbal vitamins you were in need of to get your "energy" back.
There were a lot of suds to go around though, and a nice swimming pool.
Everyone got plastered. Most of the time some dork would be telling really off color jokes for shock value. It was the type of humor that would make a normal worldling think the jokester was mentally retarded. I drank to numb the absurdity of my life.

We only associated with a few couples----all drinkers. But on weekends we were still out in service and that's all that counted. We hung out with persons who were not uptight.

Let's see, aside from the typical: baby showers, wedding showers, graduation parties, Going-away-to-Bethel Parties I would say there was some group dancing to country music and your mandatory small talk. Oh, the highlight of these gatherings was the group prayer followed by a pot luck feast....those were the days.
