I am thinking about getting another car soon. I want either a Toyota Supra mark 3 (3rd gen) or a BMW 318i or 328i 1990-1995 or a mazda rx7 or miata or something else.

I cant make up my mind.

What ever it is it' going to be a fun car.

Any other cars I should look at. I need to keep it under $6000.

Oh nothing about a field service car unless it has sleeper appeal !

I bought a brand new '87 Supra Turbo and it was the most fun, comfortable, fast car I have ever owned. I put 106k miles on it before I sold it. It had one weakness, it ran a very high radiator temp. and went through thermostats fairly quickly. Over time it cooked its gaskets and started to leak oil. I didn't want to put the money into replacing main seals, etc. but it was a hell of a car and if you find one in that series that has been overhauled you will love it. I had the 5 speed manual. Loved it.

If you have a choice, skip the "t" top. Too much body flex.

I had an RX-7. It was a lot of fun but nothing but problems with those engines. Wiring problems too. As they age the seals break down in the engine so there is no compression if you don't let it warm up. Next time you go to use it, it won't start. You have to pour oil in and crank for at least 20 to 30 minutes. It finally starts but you fill an entire neighborhood with ghastly black smoke.

Also, I couldn't find one mechanic that new how to work on them. When I took it to the dealerships they didn't want to bother with it.

Finally sold it to a young kid that new how to work on them for $800.00.

    Good luck.

If you are looking for a sensible cheap reliable car look no further then a Proton , Malaysia's finest car maker, also Daewoo are becoming popular as well here in the UK or from Eastern Europe you could choose a lovely Lada or the stylish FSO.

Daewoo in the USA are marketed under Chevrolet I have thought about one of the Aveos. It is getting high marks from critics. Right now I drive a Hyundai I'll never get rid of it I love few problems and it has high milelage.

But I want a rear wheel or all wheel drive I was thinking about an old Audi A4.

Wrx's are to new and expensive in the USA. Trust If I had the 15k I would get one.
