With no hint of irony, the Governing Body announce the theme for 2007 citing timely counsel found in the Watchtower of 40 years ago.
'Look Ahead With Confidence'
A close study of the Bible helps us to appreciate that world events can be anticipated and understood in advance by those who are acquainted with Bible prophecies. For example, from a study of the Hebrew Scriptures Jesus Christ knew that he was destined to suffer, die and be resurrected to life. So he told his disciples in advance that "he must go to Jerusalem and suffer many things from the older men and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised up." (Matt. 16:21-23) The reason for such prophecies was given by Jesus in these words: "So now I have told you before it occurs, in order that, when it does occur, you may believe." (John 14:25-29) This is the advantage of knowing prophecy and seeing its fulfillment. We gain faith and strength in witnessing the fulfillment of God’s promises and can look ahead with confidence to seeing other promises fulfilled.

Has anyone seen the 2007 calendar yet? The theme scripture they have for each 2-month part is from the OT. Every one. Not one scripture from the NT is in the whole calendar.

"Many false prophets will arise and mislead many."
"If anyone says to you: 'Look! Here is the Christ,' or, 'There!' do not believe it. For false Christs and false prophets will arise and give great signs and wonders so as to mislead, if possible, even the chosen ones."

I think that the 2007 theme for the jw calendar should be:
Expensive houses we're still allowed to preach at. It could show the handful of wealthy neighborhoods that have yet to install anti-witness security gates. It would be...ummm....well, it would be something...
