So basically, 18% of global warming could be stopped overnight by stopping the consumption of beef and beef products!

Okay Simon. That is true, but what about al the buffalo which used to roam North America? There were hundreds of thousands. Also, used to be, every family had at least one cow if not more. Now we buy our beef and dairy products. So can you really say that there are MORE COWS (poluting animals) today because we eat them, compared to times past? Bryan

Bryan - Maybe the older vairieties didn't fart so much! Perhaps the artificial feed the cows are fed now makes them flatulent!

I am afraid that answers - even when they exists, aren't going to be helpful.
Earth is warming up and there is a lot of pollution, but polluting big business will not be closed down (to much money involved).
As for the civilians: I don't see people get rid of their car, their TV, or go to bed when it is getting dark to avoid the use of electricity.
What's more, I am not absolutely sure that warming up is caused by men.

Global warming is an interesting subject, as no matter what you say, someone will be offended as they listen to another scientist view. Here is what I feel, from what I have seen and I am prepared and strapped in to offend a percentage. I have studied this subject, and though Global Warming is real, it is not 100% proven or real that man is causing it. Why? Because it has happened before, several times on this planet and in some cases it happened when man was not even here yet. In other examples, it happened before man was the industrial giant it is today and because of that, it could not have been caused by the emissions that are blamed today. I feel that man can do a lot to help the environment, by not polluting, not wasting, and trying to develop cleaner engines and alternative fuel. I would buy a electronic truck right now, if it could toe worth a damn, but it can not. I just know, from what I have read and seen, that both sides can not be trusted. Each side is hiring their own scientist to say what they want them to say, that is why one will say it is fake and another will say it is man made. I find the time we live in to be most interesting, as I think nature is changing, I also think that it takes along time and often normal tracked cycles are being labeled as Global Warming, far to quickly, and making people want to do emotional and not logical responses, because they are being partially mislead. Okay, to those agree with me, thanks. To those disagreeing, let your head explode and give me your view. This subject has become as volatile as abortion in this day and age.

Jim wood , I don't beleive that the world is cynical, I know I am not. this was just some interesting current events that I thought I would share.
here is one paper regarding this subject,
my concern is t hat global warming melting the ice leaves our polars in a state of extreme danger. if you do a google search you will see how serious this is.
