It is a major insult, and my thoughts are for you at the moment.

We too have been robbed in the past, quite unexpectedly considering where we live, and probably at one of our lowest times or capacity to absorb it - but we are all well.

In the hope that this doesn't sound condescending, there is one thing I have gained from it, and that is a recognition that although some things are very valuable to us, stuff is simply stuff in the end - we have health, and now, less fear. I see others who haven't had things stolen very fearful of it, barricading their homes when they go out etc.

You weren't robbed because you don't serve Jehovah - but you may not have been robbed if your whack job mother bought you a nice home security system instead of "serving jeboobah"

lynntink, first I want to say I am sorry that you are experiencing all this hardship, I was robbed three years ago and it does suck, you feel as if you have been violated. Anyway my thoughts and prayers are with you and you will bounce back but just a thought from Paul in 2 Cor 11:22-27 22 Are they Hebrews? So am I. Are they Israelites? So am I. Are they descendants of Abraham? So am I. 23 Are they servants of Christ? I know I sound like a madman, but I have served him far more! I have worked harder, been put in prison more often, been whipped times without number, and faced death again and again. 24 Five different times the Jewish leaders gave me thirty-nine lashes. 25 Three times I was beaten with rods. Once I was stoned. Three times I was shipwrecked. Once I spent a whole night and a day adrift at sea. 26 I have traveled on many long journeys. I have faced danger from rivers and from robbers. I have faced danger from my own people, the Jews, as well as from the Gentiles. I have faced danger in the cities, in the deserts, and on the seas. And I have faced danger from men who claim to be believers but are not. [ c ] 27 I have worked hard and long, enduring many sleepless nights. I have been hungry and thirsty and have often gone without food. I have shivered in the cold, without enough clothing to keep me warm.

Just think of it, you and Paul are in the same company, suffering all this hardship and even robbers all because both of you left JWs

No I don't believe that but I do believe Jer 8:9b They have rejected the very word of Jehovah, and what wisdom do they have?

Just how stupid can it get?

    LynnTink,

I am so sorry about the loss your family experienced this Christmas. Of course, after this, every Christmas will be better than the first! My co-workers family had their house burn down on Christmas Eve (thank God the kids were with grandparents down the road!).

Its not so much what happens to you, but how you respond-remember that as your mom is being a jerky JW (I guess she can't help herself) and the ins. guys give you grief. . .You are the good guy/gal here, and you did not deserve ANY of this (the theft or your mom acting like that). You are cared about and we are on YOUR side and with you and your family.

*blink* And then they have the gall to apply 2 Timothy 3:3 "having no natural affection..." to so-called worldly people. Shocking that a mother could treat her child this way. I'm sorry.

They really do have an attitude that sux, huh? Any comment to hit home, especially on the most vulnerable of occasions!

Odrade:You are so on the mark regarding their hypocrasy in using that scripture!!!
