I think most people who have problems with muli level businesses it is usually with the distributor, rather than the business itself. When looked at as a business, there are some scams for sure, but many are solid companies, and fortunes have been made. There are many legit people and companies out there.
If someone is looking to purchase any product at all from a MLM, then buy it, but make sure it meets your needs.
In the case of Pre Paid legal, it really doesn't cover that much stuff. A few things, but all in all, if you find yourself in a jam, they will usually be of little help. They can be good for wills, a quick letter, or something to that effect, sometimes discounts on rates.
