Well Elsewhere, my blood story isnt as tragic as some of the others on this board, but I would be willing to offer it. Back when I was 12 I had to have an emergency appendectomy due to my ruptured appendix. Apparently the surgeon and my Dad went round and around over the blood issue, and the doctor finally came in and asked me what I would want if I needed blood. The doctor could read my expressions and knew that my Dad was heavily trying to influence me. He asked my Dad to leave the room, and then asked me again. I told him to do whatever was necessary to save my life. He also asked me if I was worried that my Dad was trying to listen in to our conversation. I said "Yes". He then told me that he would get a court order if needed to give me blood. I told him thank you and then he left the room. I didnt require blood, and made it through the operation. This might be a good story to give a childs point of view. I was willing to take a blood transfusion to save my life, my Dad was willing to let me die. Please let this reporter know that I am interested.

Actually JG I think your story sounds compelling, so I hope the reporter picks it up.

the crime is the threat of inflicting the pain of being shunned
"Terror-istic", in nature.

I just got off the phone with her, we had an in-depth conversation. She asked lots of questions, and I thankfully obliged. I told her not only my blood incident, but also the emotional trauma of growing up as a JW. I encourage anyone here to get in contact with her through Elsewhere.

Wow, I cant imagine how horrible people have to feel to be put in this position. If you take blood, in order not do die, your dead in their eyes anyway! Gotta feel like a no win situation.
Its bad enough being shunned by my huge family!
