Hiya again. Im not heated at all actually. In fact im freezing cos my heating is broke. seriously, no I wasnt heated when I posted back, just expressing an opinion and Parakeet, yes I know what God and satan are thinking. I have an alter in my room where I talk to them every night you know. I suffer from stigmata tooI wasnt being presumptious at all. Its information that you can find if you look in the bible. Now that you mention it, 'Hi newbie saying hello, obey god or die' has a certain ring to it.

Wow, so now you're assuming that we don't look at the bible. I have a bit of advice for you dear, lurk and read more of this board. You'll find there are a wide range of people here, from atheists to born again christains who know what they're talking about. No one wants you to go but a few (myself included) may be looking at you a bit cockeyed right about now.

Nikitaeve, so are you saying your deity has never killed and never will? It's the devil doing it? Are you sure it's the Bible you are reading?
What I am saying is when we support and champion a belief in a god which kills, as the Jehovah's Witnesses do, and as many other religions and denominations do, then we are condoning murder, and so equally guilty. You can sweet talk around it all you want, but it doesn't change the smell of death.
By the way, I am not heated or full of hate. A person can calmly express strong words. It's the nature of the subject, the nature of the beliefs of a murderous god which reek of hatred and insanity. Don't blame me.
Please don't take anything I say too personally. I am discussing what I strongly feel to be harmful concepts and beliefs. You, dear, are not your beliefs.

Nik, I don't believe God wants us to die at Armegedden....but that is what the Watchtower.org teaches....Many JWs have died a needless death because of the Governing Body and their teaching....Please take a moment and read this link.

Welcome! Your views are welcome too. You must know after being a JW for so long that religion has been for centuries the cause of emotional debate as it is a life changing subject, with deeply held convictions on all sides. As JWs we were taught to overcome all objections...to prove that "our" version was the truth and that even if we were speaking to another "Christian"...which we steadfastly believed we ALONE were...that we were to convice him that God did not accept his faith and would only accept ours...and if he did not convert to JWism he was a goat and would be destroyed at Armageddon for rebuffing us, Gods messengers. Thats pretty heady stuff.
There are as many "truths" out there as there are religions. Otherwise, all religions would meld into one religion and no debate would exist. JWism is just another form of "truth" and truth is only what you can convince other people to believe it is. And of course, on the other side of the coin, if someone doesnt buy your version of Truth then they are believing a falsehood and are by default Satanic because there is only THEM and US.
The Bible was not written in black and white prose. It was written deliberately in parables, illustration and stories, leaving room for the individual person to apply what he read to himself and to follow his own spiritual path. Jesus' own disciples were a diverse group of men with varying understandings of spiritual things, often like Peter running amok and misstepping and mispeaking. But Jesus loved them ALL did he not? He loved their differences and never once tried, as the JWs do to mold them into atomotons with some magical "language" to keep them isolated. They were all going to get the same "reward" no matter their differences, as long as they loved each other and loved God.
I left the JWs because of their disingenuousness. Yes there are many kind people in the organization. THere are many kind people in ALL churches if you were to spend time there. And like all churches and the kingdom halls, the personas you see there dont necessarily reflect the people they are at home. We were all on our best behaviors in the confines of the hall and out in service because we were dealing with people who would turn you in for subject apostacy soon as LOOK at you..including our own spouses. No one was to be trusted. All under the thinly veiled name "Jehovahs Witnesses". As long as you carried your Blood Card, you had your ticket to Paradise, and as long as nobody "caught you" you could lead your double life and not be disfellowshipped and lose your family and friends. We all knew it...we all know it...and we all played the game.
I wish you well in your life choices. Let the possibility in that there are other aspects of the "truth" that you have come to know that may better define it for you. Truth is an absolute. The Watchtower holds no absolutes and if you change "truth" under the guise of calling it "New Light" then you didnt have the truth to begin with and you are also, if you are the Society, calling God a liar for giving you what WASNT the truth to begin with.
Think about that. We look forward to hearing from you again.

Nikitaeve, if your a strong advocate of the JW interpretation of the Bible then maybe this website is not right for you, as you can see your voicing of your religious opinions like this will only lead to more opposition for yourself.
