For one I think she should be a bit more selective on what she defines as truth..for two I don't think she can lead by example only empty hypocritical words.
That is exactly what they have been taught by example.
Why do witnesses tell others how to live their lives, yet their own homes..

The following is one of my favorite scriptures. Romans 2:21, "...do you however, the one teaching someone else not teach yourself?...." the rest of the text is interesting.
People, whether witnesses or not, have this tendency to be great advisors of life when their own personal lives are in shambles!!!!!

most jw's I know (my own family included) were/are extremely dysfunctional.
my parents have displayed the biggest hypocritical behavior I think I've ever seen in my life.
sad but true.

My JW husband spent 19 years a serious drunk, wife beater and never goes to meetings, in service or reads a single magazine...but he points his finger at me and says "YOU left Jehovah! At least Im TRYING to do what he asks!" And...this shining example of a JW...shuns his own mother because she is a born again now and DAd.
You cannot get through that thick brick skull.

Yes and I would have to say DENIAL is another reason why they do it. Out of sight, out of mind.
This describes my mother to a TEE. She is so in DENIAL. My brother and I have finally tried to confront her with some things and she outright refuses to talk about things. She expects us to just bury everything, it's in the past etc, but she doesn't mind bringing up things in our past!
It doesn't matter that we need to discuss these things in order for us to heal properly, just bury it and pretend like it never happened so she can pretend like we had this perfect family life.
