Hmmmm this could be a long list but I'll try to shorten it to main groups
As a kid I was an avid reader. Most of what I read were biographical stories of people who had to surmount some kind of challenge, very often an illness or accident that left them with a disability - guess that one was preparation for the future lol
When I first left I started reading a lot of autobiographies about abused women or women who had been abused as children. Then I moved on to the academic books and self-help
I also got into reading Isaac Asimov, mostly his Foundation series. I loved the psycho-history that underlined the theme of the books.
Eventually I got into the cultic studies books.
Now I'm reading books about chronic pain management
OK that's the really short list
