I knew an elder who would’nt buy an Alfa Romeo (car) because it had a badge at the front of the car with a symbol of a snake on it. That’s the mind boggling effect the wts had on people.
Every day normal things, you would question yourself as to weather it had satanic connections with it.

A large number of us didn't.
I fell for the title (once again): everybody's thinking is controlled by symbols imo; symbols are the strings for mind and life control from the cradle to the grave.
All it takes for a subculture to exist is organise/hierarchise the symbols of the wider culture a bit differently. Changing the sign from positive to negative, while maintaining the power of the symbol, is the easiest trick. See how the same cross which was believed to cast demons away can attract them, for instance.
It is interesting to consider, although it only goes to reason you can only change the meaning up to a certain point. If there is an arbitrary meaning and an intrinsic meaning then ultimately it boils down to the intrinsic structure. Some time ago I heard the internet can be considered a symbol, but as you said it can have a negative spin put on it. However global connectivity is still global connectivity.
I remember I quit buying t-shirts with logos or anything on them.
I was careful to get things that were plain.

I guess I was always a rebel. I hated being controled and people telling me what I could and could not do. Any chance I could get away with something I would. I remember mom being flipping out about a corona shirt I bought once, as well as a polo shirt that had a ship with a flag on it. Over time she got use to it and more permisive.

Yah, symbols like an angry, exacting god, a crafty, deceptive devil, an end of the world, to name a few. This subject falls under the rubric of the socalled archtypes, and as narkisos pointed out, we are all influenced by them. Logos are powerful symbols. Try vewing one that you know without closing a little switch in your brain. Interesting subject. I would like to comment more, but am pressed for time.
