I'm sure that we have all asked ourselves that question: 'Why didn't we know we were FREE earlier?' and 'Why did we CHOOSE to stay trapped?'

Tetrapod. sapien - That's a very interesting quote.

Hamsterbait - Don't you think that JW youngsters that are getting up and leaving the bOrg are a lot brighter than we were? Or do you think, that they see that 1914 is so LONG AGO that it cannot be relevant, even if it wasn't a made up date from twisted history invented by Russell? Perhaps the bars around their minds were not fixed so well.

Bigmouth - I know what you mean. He looked a healthy young man, Shawn I mean, but then we have absolutely no idea what FEAR and SUFFERING he endured that allowed his captor to imprison him without chains. Who knows what fears and terrors he has in his mind. I hope that the psychologists are able to help him.

Megsmomma - Some people are more prone to being caught in 'mind control traps' and abuse, than others.

They are usually, nice, good, obedient, approval seeking people.....very much the salt of the Earth.

Many JWs, (though not all) are such nice people by nature and make them easy victims.

I should imagine, and I don't know, but young Shawn was probably a very good little boy. Easy prey for a perverted mind.

Disobedience and free thinking should be encouraged in children and adults alike. Our goodness should come from our hearts not from fear of what others might do to us is we don't do what they say.

Teach your child to think for themselves, is a very important protection and lesson for all of us.
