They KNOW It's Not The TRUTH

  A brother, former Bethelite, CA and DC speaker, PO, pioneer, Assembly Overseer:

  He tells me "we" cannot know everything, no one can. He acknowledges changes in understanding. Then he says:

  "All we have is present truth." I reply: "The truth never changes." He says: "We will always have changes in understanding."

  I left it at that with him since he is uber elder. He says these things elder-to-elder. My conclusion:

  They KNOW its not the TRUTH and yet they still perpetuate it, still punish on the basis of it, still seperate those familiar with one another because of it.

  How can they sleep at night?

  The Bible answers that question at 1Timothy4:2 "Speaking lies in hypocrisy, having their conscience seared with a hot iron." [ King James Bible] They have done this so long it doesn't bother them.

  You jump to a conclusion you want to believe. Relieved truth has been a JW belief for many decades, you should know this.

  TTC: Revealed Truth is one thing, if you choose to subscribe to it. Ever changing truth is another. Until recently, I never

  thought it was this way. This particular individual by virtue of his proximity to and use by the Org. has known there is no Wizard

  behind the curtain. If the truth changes, then the standards of rewards and punishments also changes. And the only ones who get to make the

  changes are THEM.

  choosing life

  We all had doubts throughout the years. But there comes a time when your conscience is stricken. People react differently when they have that "crisis of conscience". Some continue to pretend so as not to stir up trouble. Others just cannot stomach it and break free. The society has made it extremely hard to break free. It is the only way they keep their members. Franz's books showed clearly that even some of those on the governing body didn't believe what was being taught as "present truth". Yet they continue to mislead others.

  It is the mind control aspects that hold so many in bonds of deception. I am not sure that a person who invested many years in this mind**** can ever be totally free of the negative effects on so many aspects of their thinking and lives.

  Have you noticed that the phrase "where else would you go?" works it's way into every meeting these days?

  They don't care if it's the truth and remind followers that the rest are even worse at every opportunity

  The "truth" to a Witness is this: The Governing Body is "the" channel.
  
  Items taught are fillers, sorta like silage to a cow. Being "in the truth" means being a member of the group and following the rules and customs.
  
  The Truth has nothing to do with dictionary "truth". The Truth is the name of the high control group that uses the trade name, Jehovah's Witnesses.

  Absolutely! And the Witnesses obey that channel just as the military obeys Bush. Both do what they are taught to do.
