I remember talks about how important it is to attend ALL the meetings. Example: in countries where JW's are banned, meeting places have to be changed often, and what would happen if you missed one meeting? You wouldn't know where to go. You would lose contact with Jehovah's people! How terrible!

I was thinking about this and put it into perspective from my point of view in my life... now. Does that make sense? Anyway...If I got together with a group of people...friends, family, club, party...whatever...and one week I show up and the group has moved, I'd call the head of the group and say, "What's up with that?" If they said..."an anouncement was made"...or whatever the excuse was, I'd figure I either didn't belong to that group, Or the group didn't want me. If I didn't see an immediate improvement...I'd be on me merry little way.

Weird...when I think about the times when I would go over and over being totally ignored.

lisa<---just my thoughts...normally this is the kind of post I would have written out and erased. But I'm going to do it this time.

We were told the same thing! If you missed a meeting you could be left behind not knowing where the rest of the brothers were. What a crock!

And to answer the question - yes this happened twice. Once for the book study and once for the meeting at the Hall cancelled due to the weather (snow) and we weren't notified. But it gave a "legitimate" excuse to have an evening to ourselves.
