Why would GOD want anything? Wouldn't God already have everything, by virtue of being God? Even if its wanting something for us, it just makes no sense in the big picture. Come on, lets be honest - its just these guys that want to be rich. Nothing wrong with that, but they are just using God to make it sound good. Maybe, just maybe if it wasn't thought of as a bad thing in the first place there wouldn't have to be compensation by going to the other extreme.

Theres a Persian story about a diverish who only survived with his begging bowl. He was well known for his wisdom and spirituality. One day the king invited him to the castle to have the dervish answer some of his troubling thoughts. The king was so impressed with the dervishes answers, especially those about attachment to material things that he decided to leave all his wealth behind and go with the dervish. So the king dressed in the appropriate attire and left the castle following he wise spiritual sage. About a mile away from the castle the dervish stopped and told the king they had to go back. "Why" asked the king. "because I left my begging bowl". Who is more dertached from material posessions? There is nothing wrong with material wealth as long as it is optained honestly and is used wisely for the benefit of humanity. That's enough latitude for 6 billion people to fit within one big human family! carmel

God wants us to make our own way. Some are happy with a few things. Some are happy with many things. The point is, they are happy.

The one lending to the poor one is lending to God, and He will repay. If you have nothing to lend, then how can you help out someone else?

Likewise, do not say to your fellowman 'come back tomorrow' when it is in the power of your hand to do good today.' If we are generous--- and I believe very many people

are truly generous of heart and share with others and give to charities and volunteer in their communities----- that's what gives us happiness. Most people want to

have something for themselves so they have something to share with others. Just my thoughts.
