More specifically, it's OUTLAW and his atomic snow blower. He is able to toss frozen squirrels all the way to the Mexican border.

    Serious now...

There has been speculation for years that North Korea could be the King of the North. The problem with North Korea is once Kim Jong Ill is dead, that nation could crumble. Another speculation is China because of their population, cheap labor economy and nukes. Again, not a perfect fit, because if China's largest buyer of goods folds, (USA) they would face economic collapse too. Then the speculation turns to India, another giant population with cheap labor and nukes. India so far hasn't proved to be a big player in world events, and currently seems more interested in the Kashmir territory it disputes with Pakistan. There is also speculation about Iran or one of the other Middle East nations being the King of the North. As unstable as their governments are, at best, they could only cause more terrorism, not dominate the USA who is supposed to be the King of the South.

As stated before, Watchtower has not said who the new King of the North is. They won't do so until there is an obvious candidate. Frankly, Watchtower has stayed far away from publishing anything that would declare a King of the North for fear of being wrong. So much for having God's backing!

Officially, the WTS has not designated a new king of the north since the disintegration of the communist bloc of nations. In a talk shortly after 911, Ciro Auclino suggested it was the Muslim nations, but we have seen that verbal statements by Bethelites from the platform are not official.

The funny thing about the King of the North speculation, is that very, very few JWs understand their own doctrine, apparently even that Ciro guy doesn't understand it. If you read their Daniel's prophecy book, their eisegisical commentary on the book of Daniel, you'll find that they expect the last King of the North to have an alliance with the King of the South (Anglo-America) The King of the North will then convince Anglo-America to ban religion. Anglo-America agrees to do so, and then gives the King of the North the power to do so. All religions give into the North, except the Jehovah's Witnesses of course! Then they attack the Witnesses, Jehovah brings Armageddon etc... etc... The Daniel's Prophecy book never mentions anything about an attack on the King of the South, so the Muslim Nations certainly don't fit. (Especially since there is no way that they're going to want to ban religion)

That's not inspired when they proclaim something after it happens.

Right, even the Bethel speaker that declared the fulfillment of Matt 24:14 doesn't understand JW doctrine. If there is no clear canidate for King of the North in Daniel, how can it be that the next prophesy to be fulfilled is the turn on religion? I'm trying to block that Daniel commentary out of my mind, but in having to conduct the study (I know, I should have just resigned back then) I really tried to figure out what the sequence of events would be if we didn't recognize the King of the North or if we are in a period of time when the KON is not active. It really seems to me that they had no good answer for how the whole thing was going to go down and at the end of the day, I gave up trying to understand the societies take. Basically, its all a prop to hold up the 1914 doctrine. All the explainations of this particular prophesy are really self serving (same with Revelation). Actually, the research I was doing in preparation of the Daniel book lead me to discover many of the WTS doctrinal issues and directly lead me to research 607. Bottom line, their guess is as good as mine. Which is pretty bad considering I don't proclaim myself God's channel of communication on earth today.

Wait until they get some new duracells. It will change, the important thing is this, it is not important to Glorifying God through Christ and not important to our faith in Christ and our salvation. Too much speculation which is why this forum is filled with people and basing their lives on empty promises from an org and being disillusioned.

1 Tim 4:7 7 Do not waste time arguing over godless ideas and old wives’ tales. Instead, train yourself to be godly

Titus 3:9 9 Do not get involved in foolish discussions about spiritual pedigrees or in quarrels and fights about obedience to Jewish laws. These things are useless and a waste of time

I heard one or two suggestions in my last couple of years or so in the wts, but really the truth is they don't have a clue, otherwise they would say who it is.

Seems to me they don't have much of a clue about anything really.
