I recalled this message because it does not have the approval of the slave.

  FRIENDS - THERE IS THE EMAIL AND SOUND BIT GOING AROUND THAT A BROTHER GAVE AT AN ASSEMBLY THAT SAID THAT THE "FAITHFUL AND DISCREET SLAVE" HAD SAID THAT MATT. 24:14 WAS FULFILLED. NOT TRUE. A BROTHER HAS CHECKED WITH LEGAL AT THE BRANCH AND HE SAID THAT IT WAS NOT TRUE AND WAS "BEING HANDLED" AT THIS TIME. PLEASE.. IF YOU HEAR OF THIS OR YOU HAVE RECEIVED IT AND SENT IT OUT TO SOMEONE ELSE..PLEASE SEND THEM THE TRUTH SO WE CAN STOP THIS FALSE EMAIL & SOUND BIT.

  There are several threads on this subject. The simple fact is he said what he said, cant take it back. Did he just pull it out of his arse? I doubt it. He probably overheard them talking, and decided to add it to his talk.

  1) I think Brother Goofy-looking who gave this talk is about to be called on the carpet, what with his name, photo, and voice being plastered all over the internet (or at least on this DB, which of course is monitored by Bethel...hi guys! ).

  2) I wonder if we will see a "Kingdom Ministry" warning on this topic, just like the one on the "George Benson / Celine Dion" recording that was floating aoround a few months ago.

  3) There will at least be a big KM article and/or WT study article on the dangers of spreading rumors via e-mail

  They are not getting away with this little "leak" like they did with the 1975. We have them dead to rights on this one. In the old days, they would just fall back on the plausible deniability line, and try to blame publishers who were "running ahead". Having said this, I still think the society has a hand in all this...for example:

  I for one do not believe that this guy "pulled it out of his arse" as buttlight suggests...somebody that dumb had to have had some help in the enlightenment area. I think he heard some people talking at Bethel and disgorged himself without thinking about the consequences.

  I think that was Matthew 24:14..........

  Bethelites and COs and DOs get to hear talks by GB members that the rank and file are not "privileged" to hear, either at the annual meeting held the first week of October, or at training sessions for the COs and DOs, or at Bethel itself. Even comments made at the "morning worship" show up in emails.

  I sort of figured this would happen. we all know examples of do's and co's going "off script" in their talks, and eventually being taken to task for it, and then six months down the road it is mentioned in a km or wt article. I dont doubt for one minute that there has been chatter in the halls of brooklyn and at morning worship about the matt 2414 fulfillment, but i simply cannot imagine this being meant to come down as some kind of edict from the gb. after all, if that happened, i think you would see a steep decline in hours spent in the ministry and literature placements, and i don't think anyone in brooklyn wants to see that take place--at least not yet.
