As long as there are 3rd world countries without the internet, there will be adult baptisms.
Even afterwards, there will be some baptisms of adults, but generally, the numbers will
be down. Here's how that's going. Poorer countries are not getting desktop computers.
They are getting cell phones. Cell phones are a big source for internet access. From
cell phones, the next step will be the little hand-held basic computers that are like
blackberries, but with better screens. After all the rich countries pay for the technology,
the poor countries will be used as dumping ground for old technology, so give them a
bit more time, and they will have the internet on their basic technology cell phones with
a big screen. Even the poorest people will know someone, or the Oprah/Bill Gates of the
next generation will get it into their schools and libraries.
I say twenty years before the adult baptisms are down to virtually nil. I say ten before
there aren't enough to replace those passing away in the org. I say five years if you include those
jumping ship. So IMO, by 2012, all recruitment numbers will not overcome the losses.
