I can't remember when we got married...all I know is that Kate just got me a Garmin GPS for our anniversary (I'm supposing so's I can find my way to the bathroom in the dark)...and that I'll be sumthin like 104 before you can start a thread like this for us!

Glad to see I'm not the only guy who believes in romance here! Lovely post, Purps. We need more of these happy threads at a time when there is so much uncertainty and a "seeming" lack of personal values in the world.
Claire celebrated her 48th birthday yesterday. It really was a fantastic day from morning until evening. She was showered with gifts and we ended by going out for a meal. In two years time, health willing, we'll celebrate 30 years together. I cannot enivisage life without her or my being able to love any other woman. Sometimes a couple just click and I think, in our case, that's what happened. We've had our ups and downs, just as, I'm sure, the Newman's did, but it's how you cope with the downs together that indicates how strong your love is.
I also don't believe our coming together was an accident! There are just two many "coincidences" that came together to finally bring us together as soulmates.
It really is refreshing to see two celebrities highlighting the positiveness of marriage and remaining so much in love. Let's face it, Newman was the Brad Pitt of his day and women probably threw themselves at him - but he remained devoted to Joanne. A great example of putting the more important things first.
