That was the comment from my mother yesterday. 70 years plus a JW ....Her own mother a follower of Rutherford.

After mentioning to her the amount of people on this board including the Co's Do's, life long pioneers, etc, their hurt from families from shunning, the reasons for hanging in quietly....... the above was the only comment she could come up with.

I was outraged. She told me to start reading the New Testament.......I told her it bored me.......and I quietly said mmmmm. at every suggestion.

Strange, I also had 2 witnesses at my door today and turned them away. I said "I know all about you"..No I don't need any answers ......enjoy the weather....and by the way there are 2 Dobermans waiting to get out the door.....nuff said.

I am not one for confrontation, and I won't argue with witnesses because I can't stand it....I have frigging had enough religion in my lifetime to cover myself and my adult children.

I told her I was not coming back after she shunned me on her own. Somehow she can't get that fact into her head.

She tried to buy me with an inheritance, and it didn't work, so shes back to preaching pressure.

    This stinks.....Thanks for listening.

"Apostates need to grow up and get over it...they're adults!"

JWs need to grow up and get over their indefensible worldview. they're adults and should know better.

Some jws don't seem able to accept that someone can examine their beliefs and come to the conclusion that they just aren't for them.

I remember every time someone left from my old kh, it had to be for a reason other than they had found out that the religion was bs - they wanted to commit fornication (which was my reason for leaving, according to the gossip), or didn't want to meet jahs' righteous standards in some other way. It could never be because they no longer believed it to be the truth.

I guess your mum can't help it Restrangled, she has been taught all her life that she has the truth, and can't accept anything else now

Yeah, my mom tried the whole inheritance thing too. When she called me "apostate" and freaked out on me she told my brother she had taken me out of her will.Didn't matter one bit to me. I didn't respond to her blackmail.

It's funny what they think they can get you with.

    Dear Rest,

Just came through the last major dissonance of the "Eroica" - 18 minutes into the piece. It has the feel of troops soldiering through in battle to the lone, long-sustained blare of a brassy clarion call. Exquisitely unsettling. Not quite the same pleasure, however, with yer Mum's dissonance. So sorry. Do we somehow extract ourselves from the potential emotional blackmail that only a parent can impose and cooly say, "Enough - your little games no longer work!" It is so difficult, perhaps with ANY person who has hold of our heart. I am now in a much better position to understand how some whom I've hurt avoid me. I am detached - objective - about whatever malice they may bear me. Weird spot to be in, to sympathize with the enemy - LOL! Don't know how else to put it.

I guess there's no getting through with the mind-set you describe, Rest! Hope you get through the emotion of it all. "Eroica" is concluding - some 50 minutes long! Hope you haven't minded my sharing it with you....................

    Love,

    CoCo

    Whats even Wilder...

We just had a row with our 22 year old son...has no use for the witnesses. Anyway it was time for him to move on and he moved in with Grandma, my mother. She has no problem with his attitude about the JW's. Respects his opinions, gave him 2 bedrooms and a bath free rent.......plus 5K for a new vehicle that comes out of his inheritance money......ofcourse letting me know.

    Am I going to bite?

Why does the phrase "Release the hounds" come to mind when I read this?

This would really irritate me if a JW parent said it to me.

Speaking of needing to grow up.... just who is it that spends all their waking hours serving an imaginary friend??

Speaking of needing to get over it... just who is it that has temper tantrums and takes all their toys out of the sandbox and refuses to play with anyone who doesn't agree with them and their belief system?

Speaking of being adults.... what gives them the right to treat anyone with such contempt as they treat exJWs?

    Mary...

Teehee....., my dogs are always the last but best resort at 100 plus pounds each with 3 inch wide spiked collars. The funniest part of this is they are the most human loving, accepting dogs you would ever want to meet....much unlike the JWs.

Vet bills every 3 months, $300.00, chewed up toys each week, $20.00....JW scare factor.......priceless!
