THE NAMES listed in this Memorial constitute only a small sampling of the victims who should be included, according to published statistics. Relatively few cases come to the attention of the news media because a police accident report was involved or because doctors asked courts to intervene. When adult JWs are admitted privately to hospitals and sign legal release papers, their deaths due to refusing blood are generally recorded only in confidential patient files. Published obituaries usually omit such details. Names are listed here if reported in the public news media or if submitted by relatives, friends, or other knowledgeable individuals who vouch for the information.

    HERES THE REPLY; PUKE ALERT!

'hey XXXXX thanks i read. some true and some baloney. but just so you know its not always the truth when the media headline reads 'jw dies refusing a blood transfusion'. in an operation theater the patent never dies just because of no blood transfusion. its when theres complications during surgery thats what kills them. also the fact that some would have died even if they took blood. there are risks both ways and that has to be taken into consideration. mabey you should do a survey on all the people that have died through complications using blood, or have serious sickness after. if it was so dangerous why are there alot bloodless hospitals. and its proven that bloodless surgery is better and safer the technology now is that they can do open heart surgery with like 60 ml blood loss.

also the brother that had his leg bitten off in a shark attack in WA when had to dive an hour or so 4x4 then met by the ambulance and then a helicopter as well to get to the mediical room is alive and well mate. '

Heretic, the problem is that JWs think all these people will receive a resurrection and the opportunity to live forever. You, on the other hand, have only a few short years left at most, before suffering eternal destruction in Armageddon.

It's hard to argue with them when they are so brainwashed.

Good that they are still talking to you though! Maybe there is hope for your brother if he's a cool, funny guy - there's not much fun to be had in the org.

He has a point - there can be complications.

No one is suggesting that blood should be used without concern - there are concerns to be addressed. The total banning of blood while allowing all of it's components is however ludricrous. Ask your brother if he would allow a transfusion of Hemopure? The society allows it. You may not be able to change his doctrine, but at least get him straight on it for the time being, so that he might be around to continue working on him with doctrine.

Internal suffocation of the cells is what causes death in the case of blood loss - the only cure is blood and fast at times. Hemoglobin is the only answer to that. Why should he die needlessly due to ignorance of his God's [the WTS] doctrine?

    - Buck Parker was just one day old when he died

This is what tears me up the most. A little baby only one day old had to die to save his parent's life. The parents didn't stop this baby from having blood to make sure the baby was resurrected. They refused the baby blood to save their own skin. God would never hold a one day old baby responsible for the parents decision. They say they would die for each other and their children, but this just goes to prove they would not. If these parents were willing to die for their child then they would have allowed the blood transfusion and let God kill them in some future Armageddon. They say abortions is wrong but it's OK to let a one day old baby die. What a messed up religion cult.

I don't know if this is any help, but wikipedia has this interesting little bit... Blood Main article: Jehovah's Witnesses and blood According to a peer-reviewed article published in 2005 in Journal of Church and State, Jehovah's Witnesses are allowed to accept blood provided it is in the form of blood fractions. Kerry Louderback-Wood, the author, alleges that labeling the currently acceptable blood fractions as "minute" in relation to whole blood causes followers to misunderstand the scope and extent of allowed fractions. She also claims that Witness publications misrepresent the medical risks of taking blood and the efficacy of non-blood medical therapies in critical situations.[91] Statistics have not been kept on deaths due to refusal of blood transfusions. However, a 2002 medical journal stated: "In the CEMD the very high risk of mortality in women who refuse blood transfusion was highlighted. The death rate in this group was 1 per 1,000 maternities compared with an expected incidence of less than 1 per 100, 000 maternities." [92] brunn

Why are JWs allowed blood fractions when Leviticus orders that all "blood be poured onto the ground"?

Since they are breaking God's law (as interpreted by them) they certainly have no eternal hope. Am I missing something here?

then talking about blood, i use to take this chapter out :)

Matt 12:1 At that time Jesus went on the sabbath day through the corn; and his disciples were an hungred, and began to pluck the ears of corn, and to eat.

12:2 But when the Pharisees saw it, they said unto him, Behold, thy disciples do that which is not lawful to do upon the sabbath day.

    12:3 But he said unto them, Have ye not read what David did, when he was an hungred, and they that were with him;

12:4 How he entered into * the house of God, and did eat the shewbread *, which was not lawful for him to eat, neither for them which were with him, but only for the priests?

12:5 Or have ye not read in the law, how that on the sabbath days the priests in the temple profane the sabbath, and are blameless?

12:6 But I say unto you, That in this place is one greater than the temple.

12:7 But if ye had known what this meaneth, I will have mercy, and not sacrifice, ye would not have condemned the guiltless.

12:8 For the Son of man is Lord even of the sabbath day.

I agree with the last post. I think you could prove that taking blood saves lives and they would still not take it. If they die following God's commandments they are a martyr and therefore automatically get a ticket to the paradise.

You have to show them that scripturally its ok like in the above verses. Or you could point to them that blood is a symbol of life and holding the symbol as more sacred than the life is crazy!
