Why is Jesus so interested in his second coming going to be in America?
Why did god bury books made of gold in America that only can be translated inside some hat?
Why do Jehovah's Witnesses hate it so much to be identified at an American Religion?
They clearly are, and they are the same as all the rest, the exact scriptures they use others use to show they are right.
I grew up on an almost 100% Catholic island. It seems to me that the catholics don't have at 1/10 th the amount of depression a JW goes to. Catholics actually have a history all the way back to Nicea. I am an atheist myself but I am pretty sick of the Religious Crap that is exported at "the truth" from America. Even the "non denominational" are worse than the "denominational" (bigger cults), usually run by pastors that didn't think their "denominational" church was strict enough.
None of these are "officially" Christian. I am sick of listening to all this Christian Crap in the media and how it is shaping governments outside America. As so many are addicted to Mc Donald Religions.
All American Christian denominations are cults.

I've always found it best to say nothing when I'm drunk.
I must say that I too have noted that America seems to have had more than its fair share of religious sects. I am always aware of the frequency of church related things in U.S. T.V.. For example; the denominations in South Park and Simpsons characters. Regular reference to Jewish families in sitcoms, e.g. The Nanny.
This could be because we're not nearly so religiously inclined where I live and it sticks out amongst entertainment from other countries.
Perhaps the diversity of beliefs in America is due to a few hundred years of immigrants and refugees who brought their particular flavours with them.
The belief that U.S. is God's own country, ( 'God Bless America', 'My country right OR wrong' etc.) may make it easier for the religiously earnest to set up another 'Christian' religion.

You may want to be careful before you flipantly throw the word 'cult' around regarding non-denomination (and denomiational) Christian Churches.
It's a pretty blanketed statement and the definition of cult doesn't necessarily apply.
Granted, you are drunk so I won't get too grouchy.

Fortunately I am only drunk on my own ego this time. Ha ha. I wanted to see how it would influence the responses to me.
Well yes they are all cults even the Moderates, the soccer moms et al. They all want you to follow their interpretations, they are not forgiving of you interpreting things yourself.
Speaking from the way I see these organizations infiltrating Japanese society, they promise community and make it sound like Japan doesn't offer people a sense of community, partially it doest, but their goal is control and indoctrination into "rules of men". Their tactics are all the sa Ha ha. I wanted to see how it would influence the responses to me.

How many well known "cult" religions actually started outside of the USA , perhaps this should be asked instead?
America bases it's freedom on it's constitution which provides a fertile base for free speech in religious matters. Imagine trying to start a new freaky cult in Turkey ,or Greece for instance ,or in the former USSR , even with a large population it was the lack of a constitution like America's that blocked free speech.
And don't forget the Americans are very good at selling things eg McDonalds ,Amway ,Mary Kay etc all very tightly organised selling machines perhaps modelled on the WTS

Pretty broad definition of cult, there.
Usually cults restrict information, freedom of personal choice, and freedom to leave without repercussions.

Arent we glad that we all dont do that, then we could turn this into a AA forum, I have found that most of my thoughts in life don't mean a whole lot to most people and none while I was drunk.

Yes, you are (of a sort)...

And evidently not too bright, either...
If you have a subject to discuss, then discuss it. If you don't have the courage of your own convictions to present it in a rational manner, without recourse to party tricks, then kindly don't...
The topic wouldn't have been without merit to discuss, without the games.

Fascinating subject, whether you're drunk or not.
There are daft religions all over the world and the USA certainly has its fair share of bizarre religions. I don't think they're all cult, but it appears to me, and I could be wrong, that if you don't have a religion or worse still, don't believe in God, you must be a total bad ass, in the view of religious people every where.
Momons, JWs, Scientologists, Waco Texas whatevers, etc.....they;re certainly all nutty as fruit cakes. But it certainly seems that you don't actually see that until you take several very large steps away from these cults/religions, beliefs. Then you get to see them for what they are....and they are all just means of control, manipulation and money grabbing....So perhaps they are all cults in their own right.

That is a ridiculous statement, and I am one of the biggest critics of the Christian movement. Even though I am not fond of the Christian religion, I would never say that they are cults (although some are..ie JWs). It is just another way of spiritual expression. Different paths for different people. It might help if you opened your mind a little and allowed for differences.
