Just a brief update

I've been away from the board for a while, and just wanted to give an update.

I met a lady via another board who had concerns that her 'boyfriend's' young daughter was being sucked into the dubs. I responded to her concerns and thanks to many of the posters here (including some who were in direct contact) that danger seems to have been averted for the time being at least.

During the course of my conversations with the lady we became close. I went back to the UK early in January and met her for a couple of weeks. Half of that time was spent in an isolated farmhouse in Northumberland cut off from the outside world by a swollen impassable ford, with only log fires to keep us comfortable.

The upshot is that I move back to the UK tomorrow, as we both agree that being together is more important than where we are geographically. We have to decide where to live, etc., but all that will be sorted out as necessary.

Also on the update front, my JW neighbours had a son a couple of days before Christmas. And are already back into the 5 meetings a week mode, with Mum and Dad both looking exhausted.

Many thanks to all for all of the welcome, good advice and that sort of stuff.

And to cabin-in-the-woods - Bloody Hell, girl! Keep it up!

That is awsome!! Sounds like you had quite a cozy time!

I remember having my first daughter in the truth...and a convention about a week later.....MISERABLE!

    Joe,

Welcome back! Your story is sooo romantic. I'm happy for you. btw: I had two small children when I became a witness. Ages 6 months and 2 1/2. I hated having to bundle them up in the winter and take them out into the bitter cold. I finally started telling my hubby I refuse to do it. And conventions were like complete torture! Trying to force these little ones to sit for a 9 hour day is just too un-natural. I feel sorry for your nieghbors.

But again, thanks for sharing the great news. I wish you and your lady friend the very best! Peace, Lilly

    Thanks!

The temperature came as a bit of a shock, but buying a new waterproff and warm coat, and extra logs on the fire, seemed to do the trick.

Just as well I never was a dub, 'cos for sure Amy Geddon would be waiting for me now. (Will she never come, poor thing?)

Hi Joe and welcome back! Sounds like you've been a busy guy.

I'm the one who helped you remember the bar w/the tree in it. Remember??

    Best wishes to you,

    Juni

    Hi Joe! Welcome back!

    I wondered where you were!

Glad to hear that everything is going well for you and your lady friend.

Sorry to hear about the JW neighbours though! It must be hell for them!

    Take care

    Gill

    Hi Juni!

I remember well. (better than the guy who took us there, anyway. He was a retired FBI agent, but as far as I recall he had a good evening with a local lady. I suppose he was lucky to meet a straight lady in Madison)

    (Ducks out of the way).
