Why Did Jesus Not Write Anything ?

Jesus did refer to himself as "The Word". His emphasis was more towards teaching by example. The current emphasis on the bible being the "word" of God is actually misplaced in Christian theology.

Have you ever wondered why Jesus did not put anything in writing?

Because he did not exist. The bible is nothing but folklore and revisionist history.

    Prove that point, please.

If you dig to deeply, you may find there never was a Jesus. Outside of the bible there really is no evidence. The works of the historian Josephus are contested and doubt has been cast on their validity, particulary his references to Jesus. The bible says when Jesus was resurrected the dead arrose from their graves and walked about. Dont you think an event like that would be recorded in secular history if it really happened?

I don't disagree with that, however even among non-believers, (such as Dawkins, although he is not an expert in this field), the general consensus, is that he did exist. The question seems to be more of, "who was he?".

I don't need a year, I've been researching this for some time, btw. I don't claim to be Christian in the absolute sense, so I have no bias in terms of what to believe. I just want straight, (non dogmatic, of which Zeroday's was quite), answers.

If there was a Jesus, it seems that he would be able to read and write. My understanding is that Jewish people have for eons been very literate people. Had he been having long discussions with elders and priests at the age of 12, it would seem reasonable that he was literate. I am not sure how much of my impression of Jewish people is more modern(or even stereotypical), but as he was called 'rabbi', it seems he would have been also considered 'learned'. Even Jewish people today who have NO aspirations to be rabbis or teachers educate their young men and even women(now) quite vigorously. Then again, he was never accused of being a 'scribe'. Who knows? i am not assuming he did or did not exist. The amount of information we have directly from that era is limited, his following at first was quite limited, and he didn't get around that much, even though in the Christian world, it seems a monumental work that he did. In the grand scheme of things, he was a regional preacher who died early and never left his home region after early childhood.

"The bible says when Jesus was resurrected the dead arrose from their graves and walked about. Dont you think an event like that would be recorded in secular history if it really happened?" Right - you'd think someone somewhere would have heard about it or witnessed it and recorded such an event. Or multiplying the fishes and loaves. Pretty amazing stuff to have escaped the notice of people. Many times Jesus's miracles as recorded in the bible are followed by the words, "and the people were amazed". Why didn't any of those amazed people record or speak to others about those events so that they could record them? Something's a little fishy about the whole thing.

Good luck. I suspect in the end you will see what you want to see. Finding absolute answers about things that happened a couple of thousand years ago is a monumental task. And in my opinion an impossible task, (I guess thats what I want to see) Modern man cant even agree who killed John Kennedy, or if we even went to the moon.

Just look how history is tampered with before our eyes with George Bush lying about his reasons for invading Iraq and half the country believes him.
