Watchtower March 15th 2007: Page 27 The Watchtower obsession with Satan and Demons seems to have no end. It is little wonder that Jehovah's Witnesses are so superstitious when they take in things such as the latest offering from the FDS:

'Ever since the wicked angels lost their original position, they have been the demon companions of Satan and have served his evil interests. From that time onward, the demons have no longer had the power to materialize human bodies. However, they can entice men and women to engage in various forms of sexual perversion. Demons actively deceive mankind by means of spiritism, which can involve such thing as magic spells, voodoo, and spirit mediums.'

I'd like to hear the FDS explain in detail how 'Demons' entice men and women to do anything.

If Satan is also responsible for this ( page 28)

'Even today demonic forces under the control of Satan the Devil are behind the scenes, exercising influence on human rulers and on mankind in general prompting them to commit unspeakable acts of genocide, terrorism, and murder.'

Does he also entiece 'human rulers' to provide doctors, hospitals, police, schools etc.

I so despair for the sanity of my JW relatives who continue in this superstitious and terrorising propaganda of the WTBTS!

Funny Jesus seldom talked about the demons or Satan unless he was being accused of being apart of them and just simply defending himself and left it at that. As Christ said bring out your good treasures from your heart.

Makes me wonder if some JW women will wonder if there is a couple of demons in bed with themselves and their husband if hubby makes any 'unusual' requests from her.

lol I picture some jw woman in bed with her jw hubby saying "Oh honey you're such a demon...do it again!"

'Ever since the wicked angels lost their original position, they have been the demon companions of Satan and have served his evil interests. From that time onward, the demons have no longer had the power to materialize human bodies.

What scripture do they use to back this claim up? Or is this idea plucked out of thin air like all the rest of their doctrines?

However, they can entice men and women to engage in various forms of sexual perversion. Demons actively deceive mankind by means of spiritism, which can involve such thing as magic spells, voodoo, and spirit mediums.

While I believe that Satan does exist, the GB are obsessed with him and see a demon lurking behind absolutely everything. No wonder Witnesses are paranoid and terrified beyond reason.........Too bad they didn't put as much emphasis on doing charity work or showing love to your neighbour, as they do talking about Satan.

Mary - If they put as much effort into charity as they do condemning 'Sex' they'd be the most charitable organization around.

I am thoroughly disappointed how they whip up hysteria about demonism and sex and wonder what this is a distraction from. To read these latest mags, they stink to high heaven of fundamentalist hysteria.

What are the slimey little buggers in Brooklyn up to now, I wonder?

Of course they spend countless hours writing about sex....because the writers are so sexually repressed, this is their ONLY outlet.

They are obsessed with sex. I've heard countless stories where when a baptized person is before a JC, they are extensively question about the details of their sexual escapades.

When I was a teenager, I too was brought before a JC, for fornication of course, (none of the JW kids I grew up with were virgins, I was just the one to actually get caught!)

They asked me extremely personal questions, like: where, what positions, (and this is relevant???) what type of sex acts, how many times, did you have clothing on(what??) was there mutual masturbation, (sheeeeshhhhh!), etc, etc.

it was humiliating and awful, I felt MORE dirty being in that KH with those 2 elders than I did with my long time boyfriend who I had great sex with! (ok, i didnt feel dirty with my BF, but I knew that we were being really bad) I did my share of crying and acting repentant, so that I was privately reproved. (score one for me) I laughed inside when they read me that scripture that states that whatever is loosed in heaven is loosed on earth...meaning that whatever decision the elders make, is the same decision that Jehovah would make in heaven, WHAT A JOKE!

I've heard worse horror stories about what can be asked in a JC. I especially feel bad for the teenage boys and single men who willingly come forward and tell their elders that they masturbate. HOW HUMLIATING! especially when they have done NOTHING WRONG. ( there is NO SCRIPTURAL law or rule about self gratification that states that God disapproves of it!!) The only scripture the WT uses is the one about an Isrealite refusing to perform brother in law marriage to his dead brother's wife, spilling his seed on the ground instead of impregnanting her - clearly not about masturbation, but about PULLING OUT)

Satan gets the rap for everything, which is the perfect cop-out for those men who abuse their power, and or who get their jollies from asking irrevelant personal sexual questions of sisters in a JC.

    That's my rant for today....

The demon theory was one of the few teachings I had difficulty completely accepting as a jw. I could never quite see that a demon would lurk in a second - hand table lamp, waiting for some unsuspecting jw to buy it, which was one of the things my study conductor told me was possible. I remember studying the knowledge book with a call some years ago, when we went through this paragraph on page 114:

demons have made some people speechless or blind and have continued to revel in the suffering of humans. (Matthew 9:32, 33; 12:22; Mark 5:2-5) Today, reports show that demons sexually harass some and drive others to insanity. They incite still others to murder and suicide, which are sins against God.

She wanted to know where it was reported that this actually happened, and I don't think we gave her a satisfactory answer. She never became a jw anyway.

Isn't it from the direction of the GB that the brothers have to ask such pointed questions? Which gave me this idea, maybe they do that so they have some good reading material at Bethel! The GB may need some sort of mental stimulation for their sick perverted little minds!!
