Has anyone ever questioned Rev 7:9 or 19:1 in the Hall?

I wonder what was your reaction when reading these two scriptures, especially when you were a Witness?

Rev 7:9: "After this I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no man could number, from every nation, from all tribes and peoples and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands" | Rev. 19:1: "After this I heard what seemed to be the loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, crying, "Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God" | Verses provided so no one needs to look 'em up.

Clear as day now. I can't remember even reading 19:1 while still in.

I challenged my mother over Rev. 19:1. She said the great crowd mentioned there must be the 144,000! Because that is a big number!!

What the?

I also asked her why the reference to Rev. 19:1 is completely missing in the Appendix of the green NWT. She said it's probably just a typing mistake.

The "great crowd in heaven" referred to at Revelation 19:1, 6 is not the same as the "great crowd" of Revelation 7:9. The ones in heaven are not described as being "out of all nations" or as ascribing their salvation to the Lamb; they are angels. The expression "great crowd" is used in a variety of contexts in the Bible.—Mark 5:24; 6:34; 12:37.

Naturally, their reasoning is built on sand and not common sense. Since Revelation 7:9 already describes the Great Crowd as being "out of all nations and peoples and tongues", then there would be no need to repeat the same exact phrase over again a few chapters later. It would be like me doing my very first thread on here saying "Hi, I'm Mary and I'm from Canada". Then on my next thread, I just refer to myself as "Mary" and someone coming to the conclusion that "well you can't be the same person, because you didn't say you were from Canada!"

It's only because the GB has decided in their own feeble minds, that no one else deserves to go to Heaven, have they come up with such a ridiculous conclusion. What a big surprise.

Yes, I questioned it and was told the great crowd are before the throne "on earth". However, most bible's translate that verse to say the great crowd is before the throne with throne meaning "in the inner sanctuary" of God. Since John's vision is heavenly, and the description of what is around the throne in Revelation 7, (verses 9-11) matches the description of the heavenly scene in Revelation 4, it is easy to see that the great crowd is IN heaven, not on earth. Since mankind's fall from perfection God's throne/blessing has been removed from the human race. After Armageddon God's throne/blessing will once again be accessible to all mankind, but still only in a spiritual sense.

Really, so long as the society has published -anything- referencing a scripture that will soothe the minds of most dubs.

Very good, you have seen the deliberate switch by the WT of the Greek words for the inner and outter courtyards, II still have problems getting dubs to see the the Greek words for inner and outter courtyards, a totla subversion of the truth.

I asked several different people and I got several "I don't know but I'm sure there's an explination from it because we know the great crowd can't be in heaven" answers and then 2 gave me the following answer:

The great crowd of 19:1isn't the same great crowd that we will be in. It must be another great crowd. It could be a crowd of angels.

Being before the throne in 7:9 means you in the outer courtyard which extends to earth.

And then they couldn't understand why these explinations didn't cut it for me.....
