Sounds awesome! I went to an open mic event last month and heard some memorable poetry and stories .... one woman described in excruciating detail her sexcapade of being stabbed through and through by needles, a guy talked about his visit to Nebraska to see where Brandon Teena was killed, one woman had a very amusing reading of three versions of the same story (which got more and more wacky through each revision; the editor kept saying "I like this one sentence/paragraph/etc," but hate the rest, you should take that paragraph and write a whole new story around it"), and a bunch of other stuff I forgot. Lots of creative interesting folk out there.
